Heat exhaustion

Hi everyone

Although I didn't catch the weather report tonight, it was said to be 39 degrees C (that's for June in Toronto, as we may be the only two who use metric measures), or 102/103 degrees F today. It's 11.30pm here at present, and my 11 year old daughter is calling out to me from the next room that it's too hot to sleep. My dog is wandering around, looking as though she wished she could unzip her fur coat.

There are several bush fires burning out of control on the island. Some of the local fires have been deliberately lit. There's a total fire ban, and our water restrictions continue.

Under the circumstances, a little snow sounds kind of refreshing...

Cheers

Hi Gail, thanks for the weather report from Tasmania - 39C eh? Well its 8 in the morning here (the bb sure was active last night) and I can't see out of windows for fog - awful stuff. The forecast today is for a high of 1C with risk of freezing rain changing to rain. SO ENJOY your heat. Wish I could send you some of the snow and rain to end your fires and that the idiots that might have started some of them get caught.Hope you are sleeping well. June in Toronto

Hi June

As we both seem to be around at present, do you have time to use the chat facility now? It really IS too hot to try to sleep.

Gail - I'd love to use the chat room - BUT CAN'T - IT DRIVES MY BEB CRAZY AND HURTS LIKE HECK. I don't know how people with beb can cope with it. Sorry - you have a go if there's anyone there. Thanks for the invite tho' - sorry you can't sleep - its now snowing, freezing rain here - terrible (when you can't go out because I fell on the ice just last week and do not want to do that again). June in the white place called Toronto!

Hi June

No problem about the chat room. I'm sorry to hear you aren't able to use it. Dee and I have used it in the past and had fun.

I was just excited to know that someone else was using the BB at the same real time as me. Because I'm on a very different time zone to most of you, normally there's no-one around at the time I read the BB.

Cheers
Gail
