Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
I am taking one Moistur Eye cap and the Lutein/Bilberry cap one a day because I like the ingredients that are in them. I also take Spectra 3 Multivit/Min/supplement but only 1 of them.. together they are big doses so I don't want to over do it. I have been better on these but as all things...don't know if they are the reason. I feel it is a combination of things. The Klonopin is helping and the Botox helped a little and no med including Botox had helped before surgery. The surgery didn't help as much as I hoped, but like I said I think the whole package of what I have done may have made things much better. I stopped everything else I was trying ...Guafenisen, Benadryl, Elavil, Noni, Oregon grape root and Sudafed.
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
I really wanted to try them, but couldn't locate any. A local health food store offered to order them, but forgot. She just called me today and asked if I still want them - I told her yes, so it will be another 6 weeks or so before the verdict is in for me.

Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
I haven't heard of Moistur-Eyes supps. I use Moisture Eyes Ointment occasionally. Is it a different form of the ointment?graceanne in port orchard
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
It has nothing to do with the ointment. It is a health supplement to increase moisture to the eye from the "inside". There was alot of posting on it awhile back. It has helped me with dry eye. The jury is still out on whether it has helped others though.
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
does it have lutein in it?
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) "ingredients"
It doesn't have lutein, although they make a supplement that does. The link below will tell you what both supplements contain.Virginia in AL

Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) "ingredients"
sorry Shanasy, thanks Virginia. just read back on the board about moistur-eyes. now if i need them i have the info.
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
Shanasy,
I have been taking Moistur-eyes since Feb. 21. Last night was the first night in 3 years that I did not put ointment in my eyes and they were fine all day today without any artificial tears. I have to believe that the Moistur-eyes have made a difference.Virginia in AL
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
That is soooo great to hear Virginia! I was concerned because I raved about it helping me and I haven't heard from anyone else being helped yet. I take just one a day and if my eyes just barely start to feel dry again, I just up it to 2 for a day or two and it helps! of course others may need different amonts. How many do you take a day Virginia and how long have you been on it now? Any one else getting help yet?Shanasy
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
I take 2 a day for now. I've been taking it about 3 weeks. I may try to cut back later, but I'm going to continue with the 2 a day for now. Thanks for suggesting it.

Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
Hey Blinkie,I've been taking it ever since you sent it to me and it is working good. I take 2 in the morning. Thanks. Shrinkie
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
after looking for them to no avail, I switched vitamins to Centrum A-zinc ,because it does contain lutein.
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
If you can't find them, you can order them direct from manufacturer off the 800#. If you want it, I'll have to find it. Just email me.
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
What is Moistur-eyes and where can I get some. It is a pill? right?
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
Yes, is's a pill. Take the link below for information. I had to call around town and still couldn't find it, but one of the health food stores ordered it for me. You can order it from the Carlson web site and I think Shanasy posted that she has an 800 # to call. I don't want to sound like I'm pushing this. I have had trouble with dry eyes and wanted to try it. I know it has helped me - might not work for others.Virginia in AL, now looking for something to help dry mouth.

Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
thanks but is lutein the main ingredient/enzyme , whatever it is that this supplement contains?
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
There is no lutein in Moistur-Eyes. I do take a separate lutein supplement which also has bilberry in it.Virginia in AL
Re: eye-supplements question for Virginia
Hi Virginia,
What is the name of the suppliment you are taking that has lutein and
billberry in it?
Where do you get it?
thanks,
Mindy
Lutein/bilberry supplement
Mindy,
The brand is Sundown and I get it at Wal-mart. I take one softgel a day. Each has 6 mg. of Lutein and a "Healthy Eye Blend" which contains Bilberry extract, spinach and Zeaxanthin. I started taking it because I had read in Good Housekeeping that it helped light sensitivity. I honestly haven't been able to tell that it has. But lutein has been recommended by doctors for general eye health, so I'm still taking it for now.

Thank you.

Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
Like I've already mentioned the Moistur Eye does seem to be helping me also. I take 1 or 2 a day and can now sleep with out my mask and use the Thera Tears at night. You need to take them with food for them to be absorbed, some of the ingredients are fat soluble and need fat to be absorbed and used in body...like wise with any fat soluble vit. My local Health Store keeps it in stock for me....along with my Tofutti brand of sour cream and cream cheese and ice cream and veggie cheese slices. That should make Shirley squirm...and go yuk!
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
HI y'll, I have been taking the Moisture Eyes since Dec. 28, (76 days if I counted correctly) I believe they have helped BUT I did have Botox on Feb. 1, 2001 and I did experience the dry eye thing, scratchy, grainy, briars BUT after that passed (used lots of ointment during those days)my eyes seem OK now. I only take 1 a day and only occasionally do I have to use the eye drops. Thanks Shannsy for suggesting this product. Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
After searching all over Albert and BC I have finally ordered the Moisture eye directly from Carleton Labs. Should have it in 7 days. I sure want to give it a shot. as I have tried just about everything else. I went to the eye doctor this week as the puntual plug fell out again (4) I asked about having it cauterized but he wants to try putting in a bigger plug as the cauterizing is permenent. Also said that the lid is still tight from the surgery and to keep massaging it with Vit. E.
Glad to hear it is working for some.Catherine
Re: Moistur-Eyes (supplements) helping anybody yet?
Maybe I shouldn't say this...but I went through about 10-12 plugs of different sizes. They ALL fell out (or in...I don't know) I have no faith in them. I finally had the cauterization done too and it didn't help either - except I have "heard" it helps some people. Good luck but I do think the plugs are a rip-off.
Punctal cauterization
I'd forget the plugs and do the cauterization. I did it three years ago after my plugs fell out and haven't regretted it. It is not necessarily permanent. My ophthalmologist had his cauterized, decided he was tearing too much in one eye and had it opened back up. He told me he'd "undo" mine if I asked. Actually one has opened a little, but it is still smaller than before. I can tell a difference with the ducts closed. Before, any drops that I put in immediately drained (I could feel and taste them in my mouth). Afterward drops would stay in better. But I hardly ever need drops now anyway.Virginia in AL
Re: Punctal cauterization
VirginiaI am going to try 1 more time with larger plugs. I thought I had heard that the cauterizing could be reversed but my doctor says no. He is afraid that if I move to a more humid climate (which we probably will in the future) that I would have constant tearing. He also said that because the lid is still so tight that is why it is not closing and that is why it is so dry. The right one is fine., so he does not want to do anything permenent. If you could give me the name and number of your doctor, maybe I could pass this info onto mine and then he would be better informed. He is the Top ophtomoglist ? around but tthanks
They can always learn something new
Thanks
Catherine
