Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
That's great, Kathy - glad to hear you don't have any more agonizing pain by using Celebrex. I've just had my injections and I get pain for 3-4 weeks - I use Advil mostly which helps. But I don't like to take medication if I can really help it. I will certainly keep in mind your experience with Celebrex in case I need it. Thanks for sharing the good news.June in Toronto
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
i also can't stand to take pills but this was very, very necessary as the pain i have been having has gone on for years!
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
I understand, Kathy, and am really glad that you have something that helps. My pain is mostly only before and after the injections (about 1 1/2 months maybe) - so I try to tolerate it. You can't if the pain is continuous.Best wishes June in Toronto
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
i couldn't. i have good days of course, but with the weather fluctuatuins affecting my eyes so much i really needed it.

Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
gosh i'm glad it's helping you. Does it help your eye spasms as well?
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
It does not help the eye spasms.
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
well i wonder why it helps mine then?! thanks for responding.
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
I didn't look it up, but I assume that it is one of the newer arthritis medicines. Anti-inflammatory, maybe?
It may decrease the discomfort around your eyes and relax things enough that the spasms are decreased somewhat for that reason. Kind of like dry eyes causing increased spasms. You help out the dry eyes and the spasms lessen. Or specific forms of lighting causing more spasms. You eliminate the offending lighting and spasms decrease.Just a thought. Shirley in AR. whose botox is working now and so is my drug combo so I am once again semi-functional and not so testy. (I'm sure that no one noticed.)
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
yes, it is an anti-inflammatory and another reason it is working so well is perhaps that i am taking it on top of the ativan. But the relief from the overwhelming previous pain i've had is amazing. perhaps i can eventually stop or cut down on the amount of ativan i am taking.
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
How much ativan do you take? I take one 30 mg a day i may not be taking enough.
Colleen
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
i was hoping you'd follow this dicussion. i take 3 of the .5mg tablets a day and that amount has remained stable for the past 3 or so years, as going up on that medication was too sedative for me. The amount i am taking of the ativan is considered a pretty small amount.
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
The one thing I found out about Celebrex is not to take it if you are allergic to sulphur drugs. I am, so I can't.June in Toronto
Re: No More Pain!/ CELEBREX
that's right; if you're allergic to sulfa drugs or ibuproferen , you are not supposed to take it. remember i am only taking it as needed. my doctor said it was also one the least harmful medications i could take.
doesn't anyone remember all of the pain postings and discussions; how barometric pressure aggravates it that i have made over the past year or so? I am now hoping this will be a thing of the past with me with the Celebrex and one of the reasons i have been so exhausted has been this chronic pain. there is also something called 'breaking the cycle' of pain that has a lot of merit to it.
