Hi everyone, I was put on Strattera a new medication. that was recently approved by the FDA. Has anyone heard or has used it? My family doc wanted me to try it to see if it might help. The doc never treated anyone with BEB, so I explained how our disorder affects us the syptoms and he didnot understand any of it. Here we go again. Dottie

Apparently there are a lot of docs out there who know nothing about blepharospasm. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I saw many doctors, was referred to the University of Minnesota where I had 2 eye surgeries, which of course did not help. I'll be interested to know if Straterra relieves any of your symptoms.

The doctor that I went too does acupunture, which I was interested to see if that would help. He felt that it would not help me at all. I also had a limited myectomy 14 months ago, which did not help. Does botox help you? I have not had botox since the surgery, but have an appointment in March. Botox never helped me before the surgery. Straterra is to put chemicals back into your brain, if it works that remains to be seen, but I will keep you updated.

Straterra is used a lot for Adult Attention Deficit Disorder. It's suppose to help you focus better and keep your attention span in one place rather than your mind jumping all over the place.

I can't imagine taking this for BEB, but I could be wrong.

Can you see a good Opthalmologist/Eye Surgeon to see what he/she has to say about BEB? Or, as others have mentioned, a good Movement Disorder Neurologist.

I have some children in my class who are on Straterra for ADHD. I didn't know you could use it for Dystonia.
