Rec'd Myboloc injections for Blephs/having some irritation

Hello all,

It is been a while since I have been on this side of the board. I just rec'd Myobloc injections for my left eye and tongue.

I am having alot of difficulty with the left eye. It is watering real bad and stings quite frequently. I wondered has anyone else had this reaction after their injections with the Myboloc?

I had the treatment last Weds.

Wendy L.

Wendy,
I was under the impression that neither medicare nor insurance companies pay for myobloc, except for what it was developed and approved for, which is cervical dystonia. Does your insurance pay for it? Just curious.

Dear Christel~

I sure hope it does. My doctor gave me the Myobloc for the first time in the eye, in the past it has always been the Botox A. I have generalized dystonia and receive around 28 injections in my throat, neck and back area. They started using the Myobloc on those muscles in the end of March.

Wendy, I sure hope it does too. How has myobloc affected you differently from Botox A?

Dear Christel~

I was actually posting this a few days ago when AOL bumped me off. ARGGGG! Anyways, the Myobloc injections are stronger. I have noticed more of a response time with them but they still haven't got the right dosage with my neck area and such.

I had injections around those areas, at the end of March and they wore off after three weeks. I need to go back in on the 21st for more.

Take care of yourself~

Dear Wendy,
Thanks for your response. Do you find Myobloc injections more painful than Botox? You don't have to answer this right away, I'll be gone for a couple of weeks. Be back on the 22nd. Will miss everybody.
You take care of yourself too.

Christel~

I have noticed more pressure and more of a burning sensation with the Myobloc. If the results are as favorable as what they say, it is worth it in the long run.

Take care of yourself~
