the tylenol# 3 took the edge off very well, where was it before? the biggest difference is that i can barely remember any pain. none of this sharp , sharp rememberence of the feeling vividly lasting for days.

I'm glad that things went better for you, Kathy. Aren't drugs wonderful at times?

Hope that they work really well for you this time around. Let us know how you do.

Shirley

it is the lack of them during pain situations which increases anxiety tenfold. no wonder i am always a basket case before. no more. I certainly would not want to take this on a regular basis however, except for my injections, because only one pill leaves you pretty spacy for a long time.

I'm in total agreement. I was just teasing a little about the "drugs". When used properly, they can be a real help. I see no harm in taking a little something every couple of months if your injections are extremely painful for you. Just stay away from the aspirin products. Kathy, you might try just taking a half tablet and still use the EMLA cream and see how that works since the one tablet makes you spacy. It might work just as well. I don't see the point of suffering through the injections if you are one that they are really difficult for. I know that they are over quickly but just the anxiety of thinking about those few moments, itself, can makes things worse.

I don't do "natural" child birth either. Give me an epidural any day.

oh yes, i was one of those idealistic ones until my first hard labor pain.
No i am extremely grateful to have had the painkiller and the advice from you. My entire attitude is already much better. i'm sure it will take a few times to get over being a basketcase prior to I-day (injection), and yes they surely were painful. ha ha
