OPC

Last April I posted a message entitled "Magic Powder." I described how an herbal blend called Isotonix OPC-3 has virtually cured my miege syndrome and dramatically improved my blepharospasm. I would like to be able to reference you to the previous post but it has been deleted from the archives because I apparently violated the bb's policy by giving the name of the person from whom I purchased the product. It uses something similar to a multlevel marketing type of of distribution method. In an attempt to ensure you that my motive here is not personal gain for myself or the friend who sold it to me, I also indicated there are several different sources you can by the product from and by simply entering OPC into a search engine you will see them. The person that sells me the product is very knowledgeable about it and would answer any questions you have either by phone or e-mail. I wont give it out here out of respect for the bb's policy but if you want it, you can e-mail me and I will give it to you. I would also happily answer any other questions you may have as well.

In my previous post I stated that within 6 days of using OPC, I started to feel dramatic improvement in my eyes. I was a little unsure however because I had botox injections 3 weeks earlier. The longest botox has ever taken to take effect on me is 10 days and it never came close to improving my condition to the level that I was and still am experiencing. Botox always started to where off within two months when it worked at all. It has now been over 90 days. I can now tell you that I am convinced it was and is the OPC that has helped me and not the botox. My miege syndrome is completely gone and my eyes are at about 95 to 98% normal. The only time I feel any compelling urge to squint is when I am in very bright sun light. I can drive, read, watch tv, and make good eye contact when speaking to someone. I feel normal again. If you decide not to purchase the product from my friend,I suggest you talk to me or the person who is selling it to you regarding dosages because I did not use the dosage prescribed on the bottle.

I should also mention that I have been seeing an upper cervical chiropracter for 10 months who has virtually cured my torticollis. I suppose there is some possibility that has played a role in my blepharospasm recovery also although I doubt it since my relief was dramatic and came on only 6 days after trying the OPC. I was prepared to give the OPC a three month trial by the way. That is what I would recommend for anyone trying it. It may not work for everyone, but hopefully someone else out there could benefit from it also. One other thing I tried about a month before trying OPC was using castor oil drops in the eyes. I spoke with a doctor who claims to have cured himself of blepharospasm in one week using this method. It did not seem to do anything for me however. I got the idea from one of Edgar Cayce's readings. He is a well reknowned psychic who died in 1945. The web abounds with information on him. Hope I didn't alienate anyone and damage my credibility by using the word "psychic".

Good luck,

Dan

Hi Dan,
I'm sure if there was a magic powder out there, most of us would be taking it by now. We all try different things and there will probably be some people that will privately e-mail you as they are desperate. The only way that I can personally see to make your post credible and not for personal gain would have been if you had not posted your e-mail address and just given the information and that it had helped you. End of story. Most people that can post on here can look up the information on the web if they are interested.

It still looks like a sell to me.

How can they look up the information if they don't know what to look up?
Many people here would not even know about botox or many of the different meds used to treat blepharospasm if they had not heard about it here first. If you buy from a source other than my friend who sold it to me, how could I possibly gain from it personally? That is why I suggested you plug OPC into a search engine. There are many different sources to buy from. I am just happy about the results I got and felt compelled to share so others might benefit as well.

To answer a few of the questions I have been getting:

DOSAGE- I started out pouring 2 capfuls into the prescribed amount of water, shaking it up and drinking it down 3 times a day. This is considered a loading dosage.

COST- At that dosage, the cost is about $140.00/month. I now take about 1/3 the dosage, hence 1/3 the cost.

CONTENTS- The contents are primarily grape seed extract, bilberry extract, and red wine extract. I tried grape seed extract in pill form some time ago because I heard about it on this bulletin board. It did nothing for me.

Thanks,

Dan

well thanks, dan, for at least keeping us informed. i was the one who asked you to do this, if it's working for you, that's great . i must be pretty naive , i wasn't aware of any of the rules Shirley just outlined, nor have i ever thought anyone on this board was trying to sell something. i've been more than happy to read other's recommendations, such as the Moisture-eyes, lacrilube, etc. things that i have been completely unaware of.

Hi Kathy,
I didn't outline any rules.
I'm very happy for people to share and recommend things that have worked for them or have made their life easier with dealing with Blepharospasm. That's what we are here for.

This is the internet and there are people out there that would take advantage of desperate people seeking help for this or any other number of medical conditions. I AM NOT saying that Dan is one of these people.

I voiced an opinion for which I am well known for. It is just my opinion and nothing more.

Dan I appreciate your update on how you are doing. I have tried dozens of supplements and formulas, some have not helped at all and some have helped a little. I think the Moisture Eye caps help me and the ingredients are good stuff that would be healthy for anyone. I also take Lutein and Bilberry and think they probably help. Hey, I'm open minded and I know what works for one may not work for another whether it is a magic potion or from the pharmacy prescription the doc wrote. Most of those didn't work for me either. I'm going to keep turning over every stone and trying anything that has worked for one single person if I can aford it. Thanks for sharing what is working for you. That is how I've learned the most about BEB, from those willing to share. Thanks for giving out the dosage you started and what you take now and for the ingredients.

Delaine in TN who is not trying to sell conversion vans as a cure, just shared it because it has helped me.

After reading Dan's message. I decided to try using the OPC-3 because the last few Botox injections haven't been very effective. After about 3 weeks, I felt that my spasms had gotten less severe. It has been about 6 weeks since I started using the OPC-3 and I feel that considering that it's been almost 17 weeks since my last injections, the longest I've gone in over 2 years, I would definitely say that there has been an improvement in the symptoms of my blepharospasm. For the past 2 years, once it had been 10 to 12 weeks since my last Botox injections, my spasms were severe enough that they practically unbearable, but that isn't the case now. I haven't been taking or doing anything else different, so I think it must have something to do with the OPC-3. I plan to continue taking it because my eyes are at least as good as they've been after getting Botox injections.

Thanks Dan, I appreciate you sharing this information with me.

Hi Nancy,

I would hope that you and Dan would contact the BEBRF and tell them what you are taking that is helping, so that they could be made aware of it, If they are not already. It does seem to be helping you and Dan and if I had found something that worked as well as the botox or better, then I would definitely want the foundation to be aware of it. I, myself, am taking Bilberry and grape seed extract and a number of other supplements. I can't say that what I am taking has really helped with my symptoms but everyone is different. We are all looking for an answer.
So share your information with the BEBRF.

I'm glad that you are doing well.

After reading Dan's original message I ordered OPC3 off of the internet and tried it for one month with no change in my symptoms whatsoever. I guess what works for one person doesn't work for another but I don't regret giving it a shot. It can't hurt to try, especially when you are as desperate as most of us are.

Hi Shirley,

I will contact the BRBEF but I want to wait until I've been on it for the full 3 months to see if the results improve from what they are at the present time.

I still haven't felt the need to get any Botox injections, although I still have "bad eye days" every so often.
