Re: Blepharospasm
Welcome, Pat. I have been receiving injections for about the same time
as you have. Fortunately, mine seem to last closer to 3 months--my
eyes may be similar to yours in that they do not stay closed yet either.
My disorder is complicated by some meige which is spasming in my lower
face and also breathing difficulties. Because my situation is a bit more complex, it is sometimes difficult to determine just how the
injections are actually working. My symptoms all interact with each
other but it does seem that the breathing is connected to the eye
spasming. I live a day at a time and am especially thankful for the
better ones. Keep thinking remission. Power of the mind is very real
so I live in reality but I never stop believing for remission or a
miracle. God bless. Joanne M. San Diego, CA
Re: Blepharospasm
Hi Pat, welcome to the bulletin board. I'm not "looking for the light at the end of the tunnel" - it would hurt my eyes too much:-) I know what you mean though - have to keep hoping for remission or a cure for us all. My eyes don't shut down very often (do a bit in the verycold weather) - I get botox injections every 4-5 months, so in that respect I'm lucky. I get a lot of side effects though - for maybe 1 to 1-1/2 months after the botox, so my `better times' are really only for about 8 weeks also - I then get the blinking and squinting and can't wait for the injections again! Best wishesJune in Toronto
Re: Blepharospasm
welcome, pat. i also get my injections actually more frequently than you do; every 7 weeks if I can hold out that long. are you saying that even before the botox your eyes did not close completely?
