my eyes certainly are NOT doing well in this heat!

Luckily, my boyfriend is at work during the day. I think i would be embarrassed if he could see me struggling to get things done during the day. Is anyone else having a hard time?

the heat index in ATL. is 100 degrees , with afternoon thundershowers.

Hi Kathy, yes I know what you mean about struggling with the eyes in the summer weather. I fell yesterday when my eyes closed on me - it was so hot and humid and I was struggling like crazy. Luckily today is cooler. Also, luckily, I only bruised myself on the right hip - in February, when a similar thing happened I spent a month at the chiropractor's. You take care.

Sorry to hear that you fell yesterday, June. It is a wonder that we don't all have more serious injuries than we do. I have fallen several times myself or tripped over the dog or run smack dab into a cabinet (it's always been there). It doesn't happen nearly as often as it used to. I remember the first year that I had Blepharospasm, I was always a mass of bruises. I kept pointing them all out to my first doctor who kept telling me that I would be able to go back to work and that I shouldn't quit my job. How could I work as a nurse if I couldn't even walk down a hallway?

Take care.

Shirley

Hi June,

Hope you are doing okay now. Falls are so frustrating, even stumbles are. So many of us are complaing about diminished eye control during these heat waves. Would it be possible to say that is one of the symptoms or major problems of BEB? Or are there individuals out there who do better when it is hot?

Just a thought to ponder and hope for replies if there are some whose eyes perk up when it's hot.

Sally in North Idaho where it is overcast but still hot.

My eyes are fine in the heat itself. It is when it gets humid or is going to rain that they get real bad. I swear that I can tell when the barometric pressure changes dramatically. Fortunately, the Northeast is not humid very often but when it is, it is bad.

those two factors make mine also worse , but even dry heat is bad for me, as i have now experienced both.

yes today was slightly cooler and better. yesterday i had no choice but to think maybe my injections were wearing off. i felt might my way hesitatingly to the mail box and felt my way around my apartment doing large motor movements( laundry, washed rugs, etc.) because i can't stand the dirt and it had to be done.

I'm just feeling bruised and pain today from the fall, luckily no broken bones. Had lunch with a friend - we were supposed to walk to the lakeside restaurant, but I couldn't do that with my pain limitations - so she kindly drove us instead - what a friend indeed!

I don't "see the dirt" around our apartment and that's my excuse for not doing housework lately:-)
