Can anyone tell me about your experience with Myobloc B for Blepharospasm? Joann in Ark.

I haven't used B yet but there is a point that needs to be cleared up: The units used in comparable doses of B are about 100 or so times that of A. What that means is that lab mice are about 100 times as sensitive to B as to A, although people are about the same to each. B is just a much better rat/mouse killer than A. So when you Dr. offers you 10,000 units of B it's not going to kill you, it's like 100 units of A.

Realize that the numbers here are approximate; the principle is what's important.

Joann, I did not have good results with Botox A and so the doctor wanted to try the Myobloc on my eyes. He told me that it did have one drawback. It would hurt more than the Botox A. It had a burning stinging sensation in EVERY injection site. I had 19 injections sites and they ALL HURT. I personally did not have good results with the Myobloc. I had bluried eyesight for 2 weeks, double vision for 2 weeks, I might add, very bad double vision. It messed up my sinus and on top of all that, it did not keep my eyes open. It might have opened them for a day or two but for what I went through I would not do it again. I know Colleen did not have good results but I believe there is one other person on the BB who did OK. It is one of those, "everyone is different, what works for one might not work for others." I don't think it has been officially approved for Blepharospasm and it is more or less in the experimental stage.
