I'd like to hear some feedback from someone who gets the tapes and listens to them. I purchased them the first year that I developed BEB and I couldn't attend the conference and they were a big help to me. Just to lay there with my eyes closed (that's about all I could do at the time) and listen to these doctors talk about my disorder and the research that was going on and hearing the doctor's question and answer panels. People asking the same questions that I had and being answered by a doctor. Even the sense of humor and compassion that I heard on the tapes was so helpful to me. I remember crying as I listened to parts of them. They made me feel less helpless and alone.
Shirley in AR. who will continue to nag about the audio tapes as I believe that they are very important. Yet another thing that I don't receive a commission on. Oh, well. Knowledge helps to empower you and there is a great deal of knowledge on these tapes.

They are audio tapes so they would work in any cassette player. They would not work in your VCR. They do also make vidio tapes of the conference that you can purchase and use in your VCR but they are more expensive and I have never purchased them. I'm sure that they are good, also. They will probably publish information about both kinds in the upcoming newsletter.

okay, good. 2 days after i postponed my appt. i thought i had made a huge mistake; my eyes were so bad during the buildup of the rainstorms we are currently having. once it did start to rain and the temperature has dropped , my eyes have been pretty good. i am sitting here incredulous over this. i have had to take the celebrex almost every day for the past month and am wondering if this is partially responsible . i mean , i'm amazed!

Video tapes of the conference will not be available this year and they were not available last year either. The person who used to do them can't do it anymore. The audio tapes are a good idea though.

Thanks Nilda, for setting the record straight. I guess what I had seen for sell were the 99 conference video tapes. My mistake. Did they sell very well? I wonder, too, how many audio tapes are sold each year. I may have to email Walter and ask him. I'm just curious about these things.

Apparently the video tapes didn't sell very well but that's not why they're not being done any more. Ron did enjoy working at the registration desk and chatting with everyone. I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't gone. I was too busy running around begging for money.

Shirley, you receive the best commission you can get and that is the knowledge that you have done something good for a fellow human being. Money is only that. It cannot buy the feeling one gets from helping another human being. God bless you for helping others. You commissions are mounting up. Hopefully it will be a long time before you cash them in but it will be nice to have that big bankroll in the sky when your time comes...Alan.
