Hi Norma, I got my botox injections last Wednesday and can expect the usual side effects (for me) in a day or so, calculated from my past 9 year's of experience with beb. I usually get blurred vision (or sometimes even double, and other side effects) but it happens as soon as I wake up and continues all day for a week or two (last time I had blurred vision for about a month). I don't know why you would start off your day ok and then it happens, unless the eyes are just getting very tired, especially while the botox is super active. I wasn't able to read ANY book until this past couple of months - am now able, on occasion, to read large print books. What a joy that is and I can understand how you would miss it. Do you try eye rests during the day to help with the tired eyes - perhaps it might help? I hope it improves for you.June in Toronto where we seem to be back to winter today after a spring day yesterday!

Thanks for your comment, June. I do usually have a little rest in the middle of the day, which helps my eyes as well as my whole body. But by late evening time, my eyes can be tired again. I have been able to read abit today, which is about a week and a half after Botox. Not bad!!

NormaThe saran just holds by itself. I put in the lubricant then a piece of saran just on the left eye then a mask. I even use it during the day if I am having a extremely dry eye day ( while I am at home of course, without the mask and it stays in place Catherine

NormaThe blurring happened this time for me as well as a lot of burning. I have had a recurring virus on my cornea which makes matters worse. I have used the lubricat at night with the saran and it helps. Lately I tried using my daytime drops and putting saran on the eyes then the mask when then get really bad and just lay down for a few minutes. It seems to help. I am going to pick up a eye patch today so I can do this to the left eye when it is bad and watch tv with the good. Catherine

Just one more annoying thing we have to deal with. My eyes usually blur in the morning for a few weeks after botox. I wear contacts and can't read the morning paper with them, so I don't put them in until I'm ready to leave the house. It gets better as the day goes on But,by the end of the day, I'm tired and my eyes are tired and don't want to stay open anyway. My window of opportunity is small and I really miss reading!

Once, after BTX, one eye looked up l5 degrees more than the other so everything was blurry unless I tilted my head. Ann D.

Norma, I cannot relate to the blurring after the botox as I don't have that problem. Unfortuantely, I get little reaction from it although it does help some for the first month or so. At least I think that it does. Sounds strange I know, but I don't get real noticeable results as I hoped I would. Anyway, I was just wondering; what part of Maine you were from. I live in New Hampshire and as you know, if you live in the Southern Maine, we are not far from each other. I used to travel the entire state when I was working so am pretty familiar from Kettery and York on North. My godfather had a place on the Marginal Way in Ogunquit which as you probably know is one of the pretiest areas in the state. ....Alan

HI! I am way up in Bar Harbor, the tourist haven!! I am a half a mile up the road from Acadia National Park. Our youngest daughter graduated from New Hampshire College, so we spent alot of time in Manchester.

Bar Harbor is certainly one of the most beautiful areas of the Country in the Summer time. I just love it up there. My brother graduated from New Hampshire college in Manchester also. It has grown quite a bit from when he went as it was just a small campus in Manchester then.

Hi Norma,I can empathize with the blurring, especially late in the day or evening when I'm tired. I need to have a cataract removed in my right eye and that probably adds to the problem. Rest is essential for me and I've learned to give in to it whenever possible. My theory is that it takes so much energy to just try to keep the eyes open, that we are having a workout session with our eyes! Glad you joined the group. You'll get lots of help and support here. How I wish I could visit Maine and New Hampshire. Sally in North Idaho

Ive been thinking lately that the botox is not working but my eyes are just do darn dry that they burn. I did the old test to try to squeeze and there is certainly hardly any movement so I know the botox is still working. By mid afternoon I am beside myself. Yesterday I drove 2 hours but on the way home a friend had to take over. She is the one who was with me from the very beginning and I don't know what I would do without her.
The frustrating part is that the past year I was tooting my horn because I thought maybe I was in remission. Its been since Christmas when I had the last botox and things started going down hill, but the weather in Calgary is just soooooooo dry.
We leave for Marco Island Flordia next week. I love the humidity and will have a 2 week repreive YEAH!!!Catherine

Thanks everyone about blurry eyes. I've really appreciated all your comments. This past week has really been bad for me. By the end of the day I have had mucho irritation on my right eye. I've used my Genteal drops almost every hour and the the Gel at night. Haven't gone as far as using Saran wrapp yet but thinking about finding a mask to buy. After 3 days or so of misery it has finally settled down HAve a great vacation , Catheine. Would love to go with you!!!!
