Re: Sleep masks & surgery
I didn't use one until after surgery, but I probably should have been using it before. There were times that the botox injections would keep one eye from closing before surgery. It was just more noticeable afterward. I don't like getting up during the night for anything and I never have put drops in my eyes during the night. Whatever I put in at bedtime has to last til the next morning.

Hi Joann, I wore a sleep mask off and on before the surgery but have been much more consistent about it since my surgery. Guess that I am just a little more protective of my eyes, now. Same with the ointment. I'm more diligent about it since the surgery. But I'm not one of the people that had a serious dry eye problem to begin with. I don't use many drops even through the day, now. But I do find that my eyes feel better the next day if I goop them up at night and wear a sleep mask. It doesn't do a thing for me watching Letterman late at night anymore, though.

I did use to get up at night and I would notice that I could barely get my eyes open and would put drops in them at that time and then they would feel better. In hind site, I should have been using the oint and sleep mask then. Maybe a little denial on my part, there. We got the rain, also. It was nice.
