A while back I saw a picture of glasses fitted with "crutches" for the eyes. As I can't seem to do a "find" I am unable to locate this picture. Can anyone help?

Hi Gayle
I'll post them again....they were pictures that were posted a few years back. I need to put them in the photo albums but just haven't gotten around to making up a new album to put them in. Isn't going to happen today either. :-)
Hope this helps..

Thank you Shirley for your pictures. I have found a place that can either make or order them. I'm going to give them a try. Especially want to try to use when driving. Thanks, again.

Happy Holidays

You're welcome Gayle. The BEBRF also has information regarding the crutches so you might email them for information or give them a call if you have any trouble getting them made. Best of luck...let us know how it works out...I'm sure that others would also be interested.

Can anyone advise where I can purchase "crutches" for my glasses? Is the idea of crutches to keep the eyes open when they attempt to close?

Any information is appreciated.

I understand an eye doctor makes the crutches for you Carl, specifically for your glasses, and yes they are meant to keep your eyelids open. I remembers years ago reading that `props' for the eyes were available to buy in the U.K. but have never seen them for sale in Canada or heard of them in the U.S. I hope someone that has had crutches made willrespond to your post. Good luck.

I am also keen on finding out how to get crutches made, or where to buy them.

Thanks

Thanks for posting the pictures. I will pass them along to my doctor and see if she can get them made.

Not all opticians do this but you may be able to find one in your town that does.
I researched this for another patient and found that they be ordered from Rochester Optical in Rochester, New York. You can call and speak to Randy Rich (585) 254-0132. He can answer your questions. good luck!

I have tried the crutches but found them cumbersome and uncomfortable. It is very important you work with someone knowledable because the placement of the crutches are very important. I was able to get them at the Cleveland Clinic. Very difficult to find
