Re: update from relative newcomer
You certainly have all of our prayers and positive thoughts that you will keep trying until you do find something that works for you. I have certainly had those frustrating times with this frustrating disorder when I felt I couldn't go on this way. I beleive we've all had those days whether we admit it or not. Just keep trying one day at a time and don't you dare give up! Because you will handle it.....Believe that, ok? Keep looking for someone or something that helps and yes like you must have to tell your clients...find a way to cope with the changes in your life. That's what life is all about. It is scary sometimes, especially when you support yourself, but you will find the strength to do what has to be done to survive. It may not be what you had planned or imagined, but a solution will come in some form. Be strong, you are not alone.

Hi Joanna,

I don't know anything about thyroid problems making your neck worse. It could be. The only way to know is to get things back down to a normal level.
Where in your face did you get your other injections? I'm asking because when I first started getting botox around my eyes for my BEB, I developed symptoms lower in my face-nose, cheeks, chin and mouth. When the botox would start to wear off, these "meige" symptoms would disappear. I have since learned that when the botox works and blocks some nerves from working to cause muscle spasms, new nerves sprout and will branch out to other areas and can cause problems in areas where there was no problem before. When the botox starts to wear off, these new nerve sprouts die and the old ones take over again.
Have you tried any medications for the neck pulling? That is something to consider if you aren't taking any medications for this.I, too, felt like I wouldn't be able to live with this for a time. I'm sure that a lot of us have had those feelings. Talk to us. We are here to discuss things-good or bad. Being a psychotherapist, you may have to heed some of your own advice. I'm a nurse-so therefore a care-giver. Always have been and always will be. We're used to helping others with their problems and it may be hard for you to accept help like it is for me. I can dish it out but it is sometimes hard for me to be "taken care of". I'm real uncomfortable with that. I have to play an active role. It will be difficult for you since you support yourself. We have others on the bb that also do this. Maybe they can let you know how they handle this.
Hang in there. We're with you.

Joanna, I don't know the answer to your problems but I will pray that you find some real soon, especially that the botox works for relief in your neck. Please just take one day at a time otherwise you are just going to be overwhelmed by it all. God Bless
