Ever wonder where that elusive Basal Ganglia is that we hear so much about?? Well wonder no more! Click on the link below... And for those wondering about the DBS for dystonia surgery, the probes are usually placed in the globus pallidus. They are usually placed elsewhere for Parkinson's and ET.

I always thought it was in Zambezi SE Africa.
Seriously, I looked it up and was sirprised because I had MVD surgery which left me with a hole in my head behind the ear 3 inches by one inch. I know Hemifacial Spasm, which was my diagnoses is caused by the 7th or 8th crannial vein sitting on some nerves. I guess they are near the ear. If I had seen that picture, I probably would not have had it done . That looks serious. Thanks for the site. How did you happen to find it? Ann "Doyle
