Grace Anne,You were right on target suggesting preservative-free drops. My sister tells me she is allergic to the preservatives.
However, she said she tried night eye cream and it is too gooey and greasy. Anyone know a good brand for extreme eye irritation and itchiness?
Can these drops/creams be gotten with a prescription from the doctor who is treating?
Thanks to all once again. This web-site is a god-send!
Re: Any good night eye ointments?
Hi Geri, All the night ointments are going to be gooey and greasy. Sorry. They are no fun and she will need to work this around her glaucoma drops, too.
I like Tears Naturale P.M. by Alcon and I have also used Moisture Eyes PM by Bausch & Lomb. It is best to use a warm wet washcloth first thing in the morning and just try to get as much out of your eyes as you can. Most all of the night ointments are over the counter products and there are various brands available. Most of the prescription ointments are prescription for a reason, meaning that they have other medications in them that you wouldn't want to use on a long term daily basis.
Good luck to your sister.Shirley in Arkansas

Re: Any good night eye creams?
I use Viscotears Liquid Gel for overnight. It's made by Ciba Vision. I find it cooling and very soothing.I love it, if you can love such things. You would need to check if you are using other drops for glaucoma.
Re: Any good night eye creams?
geri. Gen-Teal eye gel is also not as greasy, but i don't know about the glaucoma either.
