Well, once again I had the honor of actually MEETING a fellow blephro/poster from the BB. GraceAnne & her hubby Steve, who live in Washington State, drove down to visit relatives last week and spent a night here at my house. So here is a picture of me & graceanne in my Pumpkin Patch!

Dee in OR who has no idea where my pumpkin patch came from. It just appeared one day!

P.S. Graceanne is on the right!

Thanks for sharing the picture. It's good to have a visual aid to know who is on the BB. If you make pumpkin pit, I'll join in too.

No pumpkin pie from those pupmkins. My niece & nephew raided the pumpkin patch and took all the pumpkins. But I do have pumpkins in a can for the pie. My mom makes good pumpkin pie.

Dee in OR where it is very cold and we will probably have frost again tonight.

Dee,
Thanks for posting the picture of you and GraceAnne. I love visuals.
Your pumpkin patch came from the same place that my cherry tomato plant came from that I found in my compost pile which by the way is still producing loads of tiny red tomatoes that are scrumptious. Alan and Virginia and Delaine could all take lessons from us. They work so very hard on their gardens and you and I didn't have to do a thing.:-)

It has to be the Garden Fairies visiting Dee and Shirley and leaving them wonderful surprises. They do that for special people.

I have no objections to doing things the easy way. We leave volunteer tomato plants to grow in our garden and have had pumpkins in our compost. It used to bother me for things to sprout up where ever they wanted (maybe a control issue), but I kind of like it now.

I'm so glad that you have let go of the " control issue" thing and can enjoy your volunteer tomatoes and pumpkins. Delaine, I do like the Garden Fairy theory. It seems that Virginia has them, too.

Shirley in Arkansas wondering if fresh dandelion leaves, chickweed and rye grass can be classified as my winter garden?

Definitely! Garden Fairies Love Dandelions..I just know it. My Mom is drinking a herbal tea with dandelion, milk thistle among other things and her liver enzymes dropped almost 100 points each since the last copy of results that were done in April. They were 221 and 225 then. She started the herbs and other holistic things on July 4th so we have no idea how high they had gone up from April until July. She was really going down hill fast and was barely able to be up. Her enzymes in Sept. were 147 and 139. She looks and feels so much better. So see those Garden Fairies know a good thing when they see it and plant them for you.
