I'll pass this on to Mary Lou. Almost every patient has had an experience such as you describe. However, there can be a number of reasons why it happens. Botox can be mishandled in shipping or mishandled in mixing by the doctor or the patient may have some nerve sprouting. Up until a few years ago all Botox was made from the same original batch that Dr. Scott used. The new Botox from the new batch has less protein in it and is supposed to be more purified. When attending a seminar by Allergan, we were told that it should actually be better since there was less chance of developing antibodies.
