Sick of Lurking

G'day

I've been reading the posts again over the last week after a couple of months of feeling sorry for myself and for some reason felt inspired to post.

Am just getting my act back together after 2 months of near total closure of both eyes. Managed to try all the treetments and drugs that had even looked like working over the last couple of years again only to find the Isoptin worked again. Maybe it was the break of around 7 weeks after it stopped working.

Have had a fairly good last week back at work although it is really apparent that the computer and lots of reading to catch up on what had happened since I was at work were not good for the eyes.

With the Isoptin working my doc has suggested that a nitrate cream applied to the eyelids might keep me functional - basically the same as I understand as patches for angina etc. Will let you know how it goes.

From your posts i think you may have too many lollies (candies for those of you who don't speak Australian) after a very quiet Halloween - if you want to post(send by mail) them downunder I am sure we could help out!!!!

Cheers

Scott

Hi Scott, glad to hear the Isoptin is working again for you - hope it continues and gives you relief. Keep in touch about the nitrate cream and in general. Good luck

Hey Scott, It's good to hear from you again. Glad that you came out of hiding. I hope that you feel inspired to post again soon. I did ask your question about the Isoptin at the conference but it was just answered as "everything works and nothing works". Anyway, I tried.
Sometimes a medication will work real well for a while and then our body gets used to it and for whatever reason it stops becoming effective. You can stop it for a month or two and then restart it again and it will work again. They call it a "drug holiday" up here. It is commonly done with antihistamines.

Don't stay away. I have extra lollies if you post again.
