Glad to hear this went so smoothly for you. My long term disability has been smooth but I have a SSD hearing Dec 12. My insurance company is paying for someone to represent me and she will be flying in for my hearing. I hope things go well. The monthly income is important but there are other factors. You can try working again later and have 9 months to decide without losing your ss benefits if you are still unable to work. They also freeze your last w-2 in calculating your retirement earnings and since I only worked for 9 years and made alot of money as a cpa that is substantial. I would have no retirement with all those 0's figured into the equation. Hopefully there will be a cure before I turn 40 but I learned a long time ago not to count my chickens before they hatch!!

Congratulations Becca! :-) Join the ranks of those of us that have been successful in obtaining SSD. I was denied the first time I applied but was successfully approved on the appeal. I did it myself and without having to get an attorney. It is absolutely mandatory for you to have the support of your treating physician and have a good letter from him or her regarding your limitations.
