I've been wondering about her also, but I think she went to Texas to visit her son or somebody. I could be wrong.

Sorry to worry you Dee and no I haven't been back to Texas. We had a problem with one of those real criminal type viruses or worms as they called it that tries to get your passwords and account numbers. We have a good Anti-Virus that kept it out but it was sent over and over and it took 3 days to get all the updates installed for this one so that our email and internet would work again.

We got over 5 inches of rain, but thankfully nothing worse. While my daughter is in school and working, I keep my granddaughter 2 afternoons a week and all day Fri.,Sat.,& Sun every other weekend and this was my weekend. Also been doing a little Christmas decorating, shopping and wrapping and I am exhausted. So that's why I've been a no show. Missed you guys too.

W32/Badtrans@MM has been around since April and drops a password stealing trojan, a new vairant was discovered Nov. 24. "The mass mailing worm attempts to send itself using Microsoft Outlook by replying messages. It also drops a remote access trojan as a Backdoor-NKsvr. Once running the trojan attempts to mail the victim's IP address to the author and steal usernames, passwords, also contains a keylogger program capturing vital info such as credit card and bank account numbers. It will be from some one you get email from and the subject is often "Re:" May say "Take a look at attachment". It can hide in unopened email and go out to everyone in your address book. Some file names are: Card.pif, docs.scr, fun.pif, hamster.ZIP.scr, Humor TXT.pif, images.pif, New_napster_Site DOC.scr, news_doc.scr, Me_nude AVl.pif, PicsZIP.csr, README.TXT.pif, s3msong.MP3.pif, searchURL.scr, Setup.pif, Sorry_about_yesterday.Doc.pif,YOU_are FAT!.TXT.pif."

Mine came from daughter-in-law with subject Re: and notepad attachment with nothing on it. Our McAfee stopped it but it was sent several times and we had to get an update from Outlook Express 5.0 to something newer from Microsoft to be able to get out email and internet back up. PAIN IN THE BUTT and very scary. I have decided to stop using on-line banking.

Hi Kathy:
I'll take an educated guess (from the school of hard computer knocks) and say, it is most likely nothing to be worried about, but I would definitely invest in one of the online virus protection products for your own peace of mind. For $29.00/yr you can at least know you have done everything possible to protect yourself. Check out McAfee.com or Norton.com.
I just downloaded the McAfee virus protection and then let it scan all of my files. It took about an hour to do the whole thing. I'm hoping an ounce of prevention will go a long way.
