You Never Let Me Down!

Angels,

Many thanks for your immediate and timely response to the problem of when to notify the boss about being diagnosed with blepharospasm. The letters have been written. I thought Cynthia's idea of a "brief description of the disorder" was very good.

Thank you, Judy, our wonderful moderator, for being right on the ball and being forceful in laying the facts out as they really are. Right on!

Something interesting came up in the dialogue and that was the subject of appearance.

During this last Thanksgiving visit, I notice for the first time, my beautiful sister's eyelids shut down while I was talking to her. It made me sad and I wasn't sure I wanted to keep looking at her. I'll get over it. She had to get used to my white hair!

If you just keep on being who you really are, the rest won't matter. The issue is keeping this condition under control and being pain-free.

Good luck, all you angels, you're really helping each other a lot!

Big Sis (She's Baby Sis - - we're 11 years apart) When I get a scanner (soon), I'll e-mail a picture so you all can so who we're talking about.

Oh, another thing, sometimes the eyelids are fine, and my sister will go for her botax, wide-eyed and bushy tailed. GO FIGURE!

Hi,Geri I have have just taken a medical leave for BEB. I took a card my Dr gave me to explain BEB. I got one that the foundation put out Blind with perfect eyes. I worked in an cash office doing a lot of paper work and computer. I lost my sight 2 days a week apart . The company has done every thing to assure me to take of myself and do whatever it takes. The regional human resource call and said the company will help. So I say tell the boss and give them information about BEB. Go for it!

Hi Geri, I'm so glad you got good replies to your post and all that help - they are wonderful people here on the bb. I couldn't help as I live in Canada and the system is different here! I just wanted to say that it happens to a lot of people (with beb) that their eyes can be terrible and then as soon as they walk into the doctor's office, bingo - they seem fine. Some doctors understand this - but the video suggestion is a good one. Good luck to your Baby Sis and you.
