I emailed the foundation and asked about support group meetings. We should have 2 a year but haven't had one here in 1 1/2 years. (As far as I know that was the only one in atleast six years) I wondered if any of you Dallasites would like to get together for an informal meeting in the next month or two. At the one meeting we have had I noticed that people really wanted and needed to share their stories and ask questions of others. I'm not up for planning a big meeting with guest speakers but would be glad to host a small group in my home or maybe a church meeting room on a Sun afternoon (soccer starts soon and we always play on Sat) just to "talk." I've had at least 7 people call me/email me with questions over the last couple of months and thougt it would be nice to put faces with names.Kelly in Allen

I think a support meeting sounds great. I have e-mailed you once before. I just got a phone call about two weeks ago from another Dallasite that was just diagnosed with beb and have kept her telephone number. I am just in Plano, right down the road from Allen. I wonder how many are there from this area?

There are 3 of us (that I know of) in Allen alone! I did get an email from Nancy Townsend(the State Coordinator) yesterday. The foundation forwarded my email questioning the lack of support group meetings in our area. She said they are planning to plan one. I think we should do something ourselves anyway (it could take 6 months for them to get one organized), and even if we only have a handful of people I think it would be nice just to meet each other and talk.Kelly in Allen

I really like the idea of a small group getting together. Let's work on it. I know of one person here in Plano but have only talked to her on the phone but I could find out if she is interested. Keep my e-mail address handy.

Good news. I have contacted either by phone or email everyone I have had contact with recently and I have 3 who want to meet. I still have a few more that I haven't heard back from yet. I think we are on to something!
