Different method of injecting Botox

Hi Everybody

I had my last injections just before Christmas with another great result. The interesting thing is that the doctor, after injecting each site, sort of massaged the Botox into the area concerned. I have never had this done before.

The result is that I have not experienced the usual really strong effect that used to last for 2-3 weeks before settling down - sometimes a slight ptosis and a general heavy feeling. Instead it is an almost normal feeling.

Does anyone else have the site massaged after injection?

Lyn

Kathy - I really think it made a difference as this is the first time ever I have not had a few weeks of really strong effects. I have seem this new doctor 3 times now and that was the first time he did the massage bit. Time will tell how long it will last, of course - I am hoping for about 10 weeks this time. I went at 9 weeks last time and think I could have lasted another week or two. He seems really interested in BEB and is really devastated if he causes me a slight bruise - which is nothing to what I had to put up with when I went to my previous doctor - I had black eyes about every second time. What a difference a decent, caring doctor makes.

he sounds wonderful. i think i might have too much scar tissue tho from so many injections for that to be effective? also they hurt so much i'm not sure i want that area touched .

Lynn, my doctor massages each site as he injects. I thought he did it to soothe and take away or lessen the pain from the injetions. I think it does have something to do with the distribution of the Botox in that area.

My doctor applies pressure to the site after each injection. I never have any side effects after my injections so maybe that is partly why.

My doctor applies pressure to the site after each botox injection but, I get 4-6 weeks of side effects - so, once again, we are all different! I'll talk to him about massaging though.
