Hi Kathy,
I do feel that some weather changes play a part in my symptoms as when a weather "front" goes through. I have noticed that my symptoms "at times" worsen before a "front" goes through and then get better after the "front" goes through. I can not say that this happens with any consistency. I have not been able to pin point the exact weather conditions. I don't notice that rain or humidity play any role in my symptoms, though. My symptoms are generally better on a bright sunshiny day for what ever reason. The glare of a cloudy day is far worse for me than a day with full sunshine. For most, I believe that it is the other way around. We are all different.

thanks shirley. i was doing pretty alright until yesterday when evrything seemed to be worse , including my neck and shoulders , coinciding with the rains and increased temperatures we are having. i was wondering if others with some of the dystonias we have been discussing also felt their symptoms worsening under similar conditions. so far you are the only one responding . i am so glad you are better.

Rain and humidity do not make me worse. I tend to shut down in bright sunlight (natural light is a killer for me but indoor lighting doesn't bother me too much) and in cold wind.

I have similar symptoms to Kelly - cold wind and the winter sun (which is very low in the sky) are the worst for me. The summer sun isn't a lot better but I can use a large brimmed hat and the wrap arounds sun glasses. I don't have a huge problem with indoor lights unles they are strobe or flashing ones! I do find that a change in the barometric pressure causes eyeaches/headaches but tylonal helps with that.

June in Toronto (beb/meige) where it is raining/snowing/ice rain this morning - going up to 11C on the weekend though - crazy weather!

In addition to the multiple dystonias which plague me I suffer from arthritis in the neck, shoulders, hands and spine. For me, on days when the barometric pressure drops the pain from the arthritis increases which in turn increases my stress levels, which in turn increases the dystonic symptoms. It seems to me that although the worsening of my dystonia is not directly attributable to the weather there is definitely an indirect connection.

Sure is a weird disease huh?

Rain and cool humidity tend to make me feel better all the way around. Hot, dry, sunny conditions are miserable for my general health; therefore, the BEB is also worse ... possibly due in part to the stress and anger I feel toward the heat. Today is very gray and a Chinook wind. My eyes are open more than they have been in ages. I'm trying to keep quiet about it so "they" won't realize and start misbehaving again!

I do a lot better when the sun is shining and warm.
The sun doesnot bother me at all.A cold cloudy day
like today makes them worse.
I do a lot better when my pd medication works
the stress of dealing with pd can become pretty bad
at times.

wow, colleen, that is really nice! isn't it stupid that clothing is sometimes so stressful for women. the fashion show never ends. what colors are you thinking of? i think that's the most important part. find a color that makes you feel good.
