Rita,I agree with everything you've said but unless we confront Allergan as a group, nothing will happen. Also, the FDA has not yet approved botox for cosmetic purposes! When they do, I'm sure we will see allot more wrinkled faces out there because the cost will sky rocket!!!
Allergan sponsors the DMRF web page. You would think the DMRF and the BEBRF would do something to help our situation!

Hi everyone, I was on my way to my eye doctor Monday and I normally listen to a area Christian station and guess what I heard? Chuck Colson of Breakpoint was reporting about the latest fab, Botox. It seems he said that tired housewives were wanting to get rid of their wrinkles and were using Botox. He spoke of this in a very sarcastic manner , like women who had this done were vain and emptyheaded (which might be true). I e-mailed my local station trying to get Chuck Colson's web site but I found it on my own. I e-mailed him a letter telling him that there were other uses for Botox which were Medical and for people who needed it, it was a necessity. I explained what blepharospasm was and gave him the Blepharospasm web site and also people with Dystonia used Botox to improve the quality of life. It seems everyone is jumping on the bandwagon in order to have something to report before checking out the facts. If anyone is interested in e-mailing Chuck Colson his web site www.breakpoint.org For you who do not know who Chuck Olson is, he was in President Nixon's cabinet and part of the Watergate scandal. Since then He has become a "born-again" Christian.Update on my visit to the eye doctor this past Monday. I had woke up that morning with a terrible headache and the "briars" in my eyes, even tho I use a humidifier and my husband puts the ointment in my eyes. After talking to the doctor about my eyes being so dry he did put the "plugs" in my tear ducts. It really wasn't too bad. I asked him to inject more Botox around my eyes. He only used 54 units which means he used 27 units around each eye. (No change from his prvious injections) His method is to inject small amounts into more places around the eyes. He said he did inject in different places this time. On the way home my eyes were open but that has not been the case since then. I wake up each morning with a headache and I have to spend the next couple of hours laying on the coach with hot cloths on my eyes.
I believe it was Ann Doyle who posted a while back about the futility of this disorder. I know what she means. I keep saying that I am going to stop the injections but when the eyes shut down and do their "squeezing" thing and the headaches and virtualy being blind when we have to go out. (I walked around the grocery store this morning with my eyes closed most of the time. If I stop they open when I start walking again they close. I am constantly pushing up on the forehead thinking that will help open the eyes. I walk with my head down. Well you all know this.
Joyce in NC BEB/Meige?Apraxia (?) the reason that has the question mark, one doctor told me I did and then He said I didn't. The second doctor I went to said that I did and now my current doctor said that it was "hidden" in the closing of my eyes.
