Dee, I understand you being angry about this. I don't believe that anyone tried to mislead any of us, though. The "World" doesn't have access to your author profile (I don't think). You have to register and log on to the Dystonia bb or our bb to get that information. I was able to do it but I was already logged on and registered. I had my husband try to access the information from GOogle without logging on and he could not get to the author profile. When he clicked on it, it asked for his user name and password, which he doesn't have.
If you have listed your email in the "E-Mail" box in your post, then that is available to anyone at any time as it has always been. Anyone, whether registered or not can get your email address if you have added it to your post by clicking on your name within the post. If you don't supply your email address every time you post, that information is not available to everyone.

I didn't realize that our posts would be "used" by the different search engines, either, but it does not surprise me. It is the internet and I am grateful that we have access to the information that we do. I'd be in a real funk, otherwise.

I think that if we use common sense and don't post information that we wouldn't want "everybody" to read and simply don't include our email address within a post's designated area that we are "safe".

I would hate to see people stop posting because of this.

I have to agree with you Shirley. I sometimes do put my email address in my post and I will stop doing that but this will in no way deter me from participating on the BB. It is amazing the number of solicitors that get your email address from heaven knows where. Where there is an UP there is also a DOWN-just something we have to deal with.

Does this mean we can never talk about someone's underwear again?

Kathy, you just made my day! I'm off to a doctor's appointment but felt I must let you know that I still feel that "underwear" (or most anything else) is at times very appropriate. You never know what we are going to need for a good laugh.
And I must tell Bob that I updated my author profile to show that I am now 50 and one of my sons is 21. I guess maybe I should have noted "boxers or briefs" for each of them but there really just isn't enough room in that little space. :-)

I guess, as far as this policy and privacy thing goes, we shouldn't mention the name brand of Roy's underwear Shirley:-) We don't want (do we) his name to appear under a specific brand company name? The imagination is a great thing so perhaps we should leave it at that!

Okay Shirley now that this is getting down to the nitty gritty, you should tell Roy (I think that is your husbands name) just not to wear any underwear at all and let it all hang out (so to speak......Alan who still hasn't figured out how this ties into BB Policy & Privacy but that's OK, we need a break now and them.

Maybe it has more to do with Roy's privacy than that of the BB. Okay, Alan, give it up - boxer, briefs or none at all?

Alan, you scared me half to death with your comments about what you could do. I hope you are a good guy.

Even though a couple of people pick on me in jest, I really am a pretty nice guy (and humble can't you tell) but I am not afraid to go after people using legal tactics when necessary. As I used to tell some of my people when I was working, if they want to play the political game, they should know who they are playing it with. I do not like people who are not honest and will expose anyone who tries to take personal gain at the expense of me or my friends and family. People with BEB and those on this board are part of my family and I do not like it when people or organizations such as newspapers try and hurt them, whether deliberate or not, through insulting inaccurate remarks and refuse to correct them.

Anyway, I really am a loveable teddy bear (so my wife says) so all one has to be is straight forward and honest and we will get along fine.

I'm glad that you are a good guy then and that you are able to do those things that some of us don't know how to do. Did you ever reveal the kind of skivvies you wear?
