technical question and thanks to Don

It has been a long while since I have posted and I have been away from the computer now for several weeks. In the past when I read a post the subject line would change color, indicating that it was "read". It does not do that since I have returned. I believe this happened one other time when I had been away for a length of time, but don't have the foggiest idea of what to do about it ;-(

Thank you, Don, for your very informative post regarding the discovery of botox benefits for both BEB and cosmetic treatment. It's good to hear from you!

Cynthia in IL who has been away tooooooo long.

Welcome back Cynthia. Don't know that I can answer that technical question - BUT - I have a REFRESH option under my VIEW option on the very top line (left) of my screen. Sometimes I need to REFRESH that in order to know that messages have been read - especially if my system has `crashed'. Someone else (more knowledgeable) may know more. Cheers.

June in Toronto (beb/meige).

The most likely cause is failure to refresh but there are others. I won't go into details as they are different for each version of each browser.

You can set the program to check the page in cache against the one on the server. The usual options are every time, never or once per session.

There is an option to clear history. When that happens, any visited pages will then show as unvisited. If the history clear is set for, say one day, then posts you visited two days ago will not show as visited.

There is also an option to let you choose your colors or style sheet. This can be handy for people who have difficulty with the bulletin board's white background. However, if the chosen colors do not include different ones for visited and unvisited links, the visited links will not show.

Thank you for your reply. The "clear history" was set for 20 days, so apparently that happened since I was away at least that long. Question is what do I do now other than "Refresh" (which I did). Option for colors remain different, but so far do not change when visited. Thanks for any help.

How do you set the option for colored pages? the white background very much hurts my eyes at times. I can dim my monitor but sometimes I think it would help if the background page was a different color.
