Re: `Drugs Causing Dystonia' LINK - ANYBODY KNOW?
June, my form is blurred and hard to read. I was waiting for someone else to post. This is the best I can do. http//;dystonia-support.org/Drug%20List.htm
I'm not at all sure of the %. I found it with a group of papers that I had printed out from the net. I have a hand written note on it that said;" International Dystonia on-Line Support Group Website." Good luck. I had it out because I mentioned a drug that was first one on the list on another website and they said that no doctor ever claimed it may cause or make it worse. The title of the piece is"Information on drugs that can and do cause dystonia." If you can find a piece with a doctors approval, I would like to know about it. Notice I didn't mention the drug. I'm already in trouble on one site. Ann Doyle

Re: Link to Drugs that can cause dystonia
I've been "poring" over this list for some time, and I'm beginning to think that there may be a connection for me. I always blamed it on being a "squinter", very sensitive to the sun, etc. Well, about 20 years ago I was under a lot of stress, and ended up having a major (my first) panic attack. At the hospital, I insisted on having Valium immediately. They gave it to me, and I took it for a while, but did not like the idea of continuing. So they gave me Xanax, then Buspar because I was always having "butterflies", constantly, couldn't eat and lost 20 lbs. in just a few weeks, and couldn't seem to shake the physical symptoms, but I couldn't figure out why the butterflies wouldn't go away. My blood pressure wss off the chart when I went to the hospital, and it stayed up. Before that, BP had always been normal. I tried different medications, and have now been on Klonopin and Verapimil for years. Gradually, my eyes started closing, and I ended up with a full-blown case of BEB. I've been getting BOTOX shots for about 12 yrs, had a limited myectomy about 2 yrs. ago, and still get shots every 8 weeks. I'm really beginning to wonder if the meds started the whole thing. Go figure! I now take Klonopin, and Verapimil....wondering if I should change the BP medicine. Stress still makes it worse, but I'm coping with the routine, limited, of course. Mary
