Thanks Rhonda for the positive feedback. I'm with you, let's move on. It's nice to feel like you've gotten a little control back, I'm sure. Is the Benadryl zonking you or the combination of Benadryl and Klonopin? What dosage are you taking?Shirley in Arkansas where it has finally stopped raining.
hi shirley,i'm using .25 of klonopin 3 times a day.
i'm also using 50 mg of benedryl 3 times a day.
i don't have a problem with sleepiness.
what was truly amazing about today's doctor visit
was his explanation of his injection sites.
i had borrowed a video from the bebrf and Dr. Anderson
documented his sites. he uses 5 per eye.
my doc, Dr. Merritt seems to be hitting the same spots
with 4 additional sites per eye. yes, i said 9 injection
sites per eye. so i guess he's using less per site.
i wonder if that is why his shots seemed ineffective
last time. go figure.

Glad to hear that the Klonopin and Benadryl are not making you sleepy. I don't have a major problem with dry eyes but the Benadryl can have a drying effect on your eyes so be aware of that. When the Benadryl was really working and helping to keep my eyes open, I would get a slight burning sensation in my eyes and I'd have to use my preservative free drops to counteract that but I never really minded doing that or having the burning because my eyes were open. Those videos from the BEBRF are interesting. I would get one and send it back and ask for another. I copied them all for myself. The audio tapes from the conferences are really good, too. The first year that I had BEB, I couldn't go to the conference so I ordered the tapes and I sat on the couch and listened to them and cried. The information and people talking about BEB was overwhelming to me. There were hours and hours of doctors and patient panels discussing things. I soaked it all up. I couldn't get enough. I had a need to understand as much about Blepharospasm as I could. I now have 3 sets of them.
The docs are all going to inject a little differently. I've gotten as many as 8 sites per eye. I'm just glad that they have never hurt very badly when I have gotten them. I'm lucky there. Hope the injections that you got today work well for you. I'm glad that your visit went well and your doc explained the sites to you. It really helps when you feel like you are a partner in your own care.
