I have searched your archives and have not found any reference to it...and as you have probably guessed- my reason for asking is because I have been diagnosed as having "Atypical Parksinson's Disease with Dystonia." How lucky can one gal get, huh? Actually I AM feeling lucky because I am scheduled for a DBS (Deep Brain Stimulator) on May 21 and am looking forward to great relief from many of my Parkosonsian symptoms but was wonderineg if any dystonic symptoms would be cleared up also....such as toes crampingn and the old eyelids constantly clpsing! I do not have the spasms that many of you seem to be describing and I have tried Botox with only marginal success. (By the way my DBS will be Stn-sub-thalamic nucleus) - which I guess is NOT the sire for most Dystonia relief...oh well..I will take whatever relief I can get.) Anybody heard fo anything thatI am talking about?? Plus I sure would appreciatee any prayers on May 21 - I saw that beautiful thread about the healing prayer,,,

There is another person on this board, at least one that i know of who has PD. Perhaps she will see this and be able to offer you some advice.Also there is someone who has had the type of surgery you are scheduled for. Godd Luck with this!

Welcome to the bb Jan. I can't answer your questions, but I can offer you my prayers for May 21st. Have you tried posting on the Dystonia bb as they might understand more what you are going through (what is Stn-sub-thalamic nucleus)? God Bless you.

Hi Jan, I also have PD & beb.I was diagnosed with beb first &
a year later pd. My Doctor said that pd could haved caused beb.
Maybe surgery will help both.How long with pd & beb?
I know a lady who was going to have surgery i will call her & find out
