Well, here I am again to post about this problem. I devoured the 6 pages about B-12 that June sent via e-mail. I wrote down all my symptoms so I could explain more to the doctor. My CBC with differential/platelet test I took last Friday(Dec.27) came in to the dr's office today. I called and said I would come in to pick up copies of my last 3 blood tests-- the first was in June/2002-- the other two in the last couple weeks. When I drove the 30 miles to pick up the papers, the nurse said that the doctor said the test was normal, including the B-12. I asked what was next, because I was still in a lot of pain and it seemed to be getting worse. She said I could make an appt with the doctor so he could decide what to do next. That's more waiting!!!! I said he already knew my symptoms, so why couldn't he just run another test? She said that was what he said. So I just left.

When I got home I studied the 3 tests. I'm going to have to look this up on the internet I guess. It states that the "Polys" was high at 83; the "Lymphs" was low at 9; the "Lymphs(Absolute)" was low at 0.5.

I guess I'm going to have to find a new doctor. I thought this one was good because he had seemed concerned. I guess I'm causing problems by asking too many questions.

Jeannie from Ohio who is still in a lot of pain, but at least the BEB is under control right now with Botox and Benadryl.

Our local newspaper said that 1/3 of the people going into a DRS. office are armed with paper from the interned. There must be thousands of diseases out there and drs. can't keep up with them all. We have one. Actually this is a fairly new syndrome. I think someone said less than 15 years and very few people have it. As time goes by, more Drs. will hear of it. I feel my DR. as hundreds of patients. I don't see how he keeps us all separated--especially my GP who was trained for the flu and TB and Cancer. I only have one body and one disease. I go to my GP loaded with computer printouts. He is a really good listener. We sort of work together. I suggest a drug I want to try, like I did klonpin and he'll see if it could be of value or not. He did prescribe it and it worked for me. For others it causes terrible symptoms. Someone on the bb said some well known over the counter drug worked for her and told him the main ingredients. He said he doubted that would help but it wouldn't interfer with my other meds if I wanted to give it a try. It didn't work.

So glad you found us. Ann Doyle

Sorry to nit pick (?) Jeannie, BUT did you see the numbers on results of the B12 to be "normal" ALSO get a copy of the full results? Reading that article on B12 you will know that "normal" means different things to different doctors. Did you get the MMA and homysystein tests done as well - if you didn't "normal" means nothing for your results?

Best wishes for whatever you do about all this. Let us know, we care.

June, I don't think you're nit-picking. Yes, I got the nurse to copy the two recent tests and also the test from June/2002. The test that was done showed the B-12 to be 411(range is 211-911). No he did not do the other tests you mentioned. I was going to ask him to do those tests, because they were mentioned in the article you e-mailed me. But, they were telling me I needed to make an appt to talk with him. That just takes more time.

Got to leave for the dentist now.
