Good for you June! I wish it were me. My friend is off to Mexico on Friday. She and her friend are going to a 5 star spa for the week! I am so jealous of both of you. Nicole and I had planned on going to Mexico in February however my plans feel through as well. :(
Debbie from Canada where there is too much snow and ice for my liking!

Thanks Christel, Debbie and Kelly. Its a double joy as you can't (maybe you can) imagine what it takes to get my husband to go to a beach. His idea of a vacation is to `charge' around the island talking to people about how the economy and the island works! He's taking his lap-top computer and, whilst I enjoy the beach and the ocean, he'll be there with me physically but working on his computer or reading an economic's book! Oh well, it takes all sorts to make up a world and I love him dearly. I'll make the very most of it anyway, you can bet on that. Wish you were all going with me - we could have a beb beach party complete with visors or hats, double wrap-around sun glasses and loads of eye drops at th ready! The waiters would serve us cool drinks and snacks and we'd all admire others through `squinty' or half-closed eyes - what a riot:-) VGB!!Best wishes June inToronto

JuneIts wonderful for you to get to St. Maartins
We were there a couple of years ago just after a hurricane. I loved it there. We stayed on the Dutch side as well. I was just going to post to you that I am coming to Ontario next week and would have loved to get together. I am meeting up with Debbie Campbell while I am in London. Oh well another time.
Take care and take advantage of the wonderful jewelery prices. I got quite a bit and had it appraised in Calgary. We did very well. Catherine in Calgary

June, I hope you have a great trip. That is one of the few islands my wife and I have not been to so I wil be interested in hearing how much you like it. I am sure that just gtting away from the snow will make it grat to begin with. We are having a horrible winter here in New Hampshire. We have had snow on the ground since before thinksgiving, it has snowed 13 of the last 15 days and the forcast the next five days is snow, snow and more snow. While we have only had a couple of storms over a foot, getting two to four inches every day is just as much a pain. I have a steep driveway and I don't trust myself with the snowblower ever since i broke my heel a few years ago. The plowing is getting expensive when they come everyday. We are heading to Aruba at the end of January though and are looking forward to that too. I wish I could convince my wife to stay more than a week however. I am enveyous that you are staying two weeks on your vacation. I have arranged to meet from Massachusetts that we met a conference several years ago to meet us as we have a couple of overlap days in Aruba. We have exchanged EMails periodically but I have not seen her for a few years and my wife and I are looking forward to having a glass of wine (or two) and sharing stories. Again, have a great time. You deserve the break and what a perfect time to get away...Alan

Thanks Santa, if you only knew what it took to get my husband to go for 2 weeks - I was aiming for a month, but was offered a week, so settled for 2! He's just a guy who doesn't want to go to a beach - but I'm desperate for one and have comprised on half days on the beach and the other half, charging around figuring out how the island and others operate! We have been there before - its flat, and divided into Dutch and French sides. We stayed on the Dutch side last time and this time will be on the French side. There are casinos on the Dutch side and great restaurants on the French side (if its still the same - been 10 years since we've been there). I just hope hope we don't get snowbound - another 30 cm forecasted for the next couple of days here and, like yours, its on top of other snowfalls and builds up. I hope you enjoy Aruba, Santa and Mrs.Clause deserve a break - I've never been there. Best wishesJune in Toronto
