Actually , i had a very important question posed to me by a new friend. I am now at the point where my injections are wearing off , the muscle spasms are beginning down both my neck and shoulders , and i have been told by the doctor who is in charge that i will have to wait another 10 days , even under medicare so that he get enough patients to justify the botox ordering. Bull shit. Can anyone imagine having Botox for the sheer joy of it?? |

Kathy, there are a couple doctors in Dayton, OH, that only give injections when they have enough people to receive them. I guess I'm fortunate, because my doctor in Columbus, OH has enough patients with BEB that he gives the injections each Tuesday. Is he the only doctor close enough for you?Jeannie from Ohio which is 5 degrees F right now. Sunday, the prediction is that the wind chill will be 20 degrees F.

Hi, Kathy,I don't believe Botox is addictive, but using it too frequently may result in immunity after a time, I am told. I don't think your Dr. should be making a fuss about ordering frequency, unless he pays a big shipping cost per order, which may be the case because the raw toxin MUST be kept frozen. So ask what his actual shipping costs are, and maybe if you offer to pay some of them up front he will shoot you more often :-)
Cheers,
--- Lynn

I hadn't heard that one before...and I don't understand any need for justifying the order based on amounts... ?????Last year my doctor cancelled a scheduled appointment because it was 10 days short of an actual 3 month period. I was bouncing off of walls, because my BEB was really acting up on me...and when I finally went for the shots at my re-scheduled appointment, I was ready for battle. But he explained to me that my particular insurance company had given him a very rough time about the 3-month intervals. Since I can usually hold out the 3 months, I didn't challenge that. I should have, but I never did check with my health plan about this.
Don't you just love those people who make decisions on whether or not we should be able to see????? Fleas in the armpits to all of them!!
Stay tuff --- and feel better !!!
hugs....Rita in New Jersey
