First I would like to express my appreciation for all of you that post and answer the questions. You have all helped me a lot even though I don;t always post. I was always a morning person and now it takes me a couple of hours before I can get out of bed and really start moving. I so would like to exercise in the morning and it is just a struggle. I have to hoot and howl until I can get my euues pried open. Does anyone else have this problem, if so please give me any suggestions you have. Also does anyone have some ideas about putting on makeup and doing your hair. These are extremely hard functions for me to do. I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 8 years and spent the better part of 8 years in bed. I experienced a miraculous healing two years ago and I am trying to lose weight with the Weight Watchers progrram. I gained 60+ pounds during the CFS stage. Anyway thanks for all the love that is expressed here.

Hi Sandy, We appreciate all of the people on this bb - we get new insight into this strange disease/disorder....and help each other. I gave up wearing makeup mostly - I wouldn't have gone out of the house without eye makeup before beb, but now never use it. I just use foundation and blush on special occasions but do put on a good moisturiser and eyebrows every day - plus a lipstick. I don't even want a facial massage anymore, just can't stand the thought of anybody touching my face at all! As to how to put makeup on - well by holding one eye open I guess (maybe others will have some tips).

As to exercise, I've found that I can practice yoga moves with my eyes mostly closed - at least those that I do lying on the floor and I try to do them first thing in the morning. I started yoga classes just over a year ago and love it. I devised my own 1 1/2-hour set of moves that I do without the aid of a tape/cd or video, so I just concentrate on my breathing and the stretching. I was told I was pre-diabetic in April and I also went to Weight Watchers and have lost 28 lbs. They laughed at me actually as I was only 2 lbs over my weight limit, but I needed to lose in the hope that I won't get diabetes - so far, so good. Good luck to you in your endeavours and let us know how you are doing.

June in Toronto

I too have great difficulty in the mornings, more so than later in the day. I haven't found anything that helps except time. As for the make-up....since I have to hold my eyes open with my hand, the eye make up is out of the question and I never used to leave my house without it. It's been quite an adjustment...I still don't like to try to look at myself in the mirror. The hair..it just takes me twice as long as before. I take alot of breaks to try to relax and then work a little more at it. Very frustrating isn't it? Sorry that I don't have any answers for you, but just know you're not alone.

Sherrie

Sandy,

Well you certainly have my vote on mornings. I bump into things, trip over our Rottweiler, have problems with my equalibrium, etc.

Coffee would be my only choice of things to do.

Makeup went out the window along with my contacts :(

Hang in there,

Judy

Sandy

I am curious about your "miracle healing" from CFS. Can you tell me more about it? What's the story? I don't have CFS, but can only imagine what a nightmare it was.

Thanks

Shanasy

I can pretty much say ditto to everything already said. I was a morning person now have to sleep later, drink a cup of tea and have breakfast and wait for my Klonopin to kick in to start the day. A shower finished off with a warm hot soak in the tub helps get the kinks out of my body and my eyes open. I too don't wear make up except on rare occasions and no eye makeup now. I wore contacts until the BEB and hadn't left the house without full makeup since a teenager. Now I spend the money on eye drops and tinted glasses. I stretch on a big ball, run in place on a mini trampoline next to something I can hold onto, do yoga stretches at least every other day. I do relaxation breathing and listen to a relaxation tape every day. I have to rest in the afternoon so that is when I do the relaxation. I live in a 2 story house and climb the stairs several times a day. I really can't walk in the neighborhood anymore. I tried swimming but the pool was so cold and complaining and begging didn't change it so I stopped because it tightened me up so much. I have fibromyalgia. I get massage and chiropractic adjustments and just try to focus on being healthy as possible. I believe in moderation for everything, but it is a full time job to take care of myself sometimes.

Thanks you so much for responding to my post Judy, Sherrie, June, Delaine and Shanney. You all have given me so good tips and also let me know that this morning thing is common among us. I last had my shots on Nov. 26th so I called my doctor's office this AM to make sure that I was on his list for February. The nurse said you are on the March list and I have no available time until late march. That is 2 months away and I just freeked out. I was in tears and asked her if all the patience were medical patience vs. cosmetic and she said that 90% were medical. She finally agreed to see what the Doctor could do for me. Well, needless to say I was overwhelmed with the thought of going 2 more months. Anyway a few hours later the nurse called and I can get them done February 27th. That was a relief. I had been struggeling and needed to know how much longer I had to go. It is like running a race and not knowing weere the finish line is located.

I thought I have athis under control, but this morning showed me that I have a way to go on my adjusting to change. Well I am trying to do our income tax and that is stress enough, so I will close.

Again thank you all for you kindness.

Love, Sandy

Good Luck Sandy. Hope you made it through the tax thing with your wits still intact. I spent 3 days this week trying to pay bills and take care of taxes. I was so exhuasted by the end of a day from the strain of frustration. My thoughts are with you.

Sherrie

Sandy, I get my Botox every 10 weeks so I make my appointment while I'm there for 20 weeks. Otherwise he is full up for 3 1/2 months. Ann D.

Delaine, I am also on Klonopin and I found that my cure for the morning bad eye is to take a klonopin tablet (.5mg) at bedtime. That way, when I take my morning dose, I still have some residual in my system. I can really tell the difference when I forget to take that nighttime dose. It took me a long time to convince the Dr. that this was the thing to do because of Klonopin being habit forming but it sure does make a difference. I can probably tolerate it more alos because of my size. As you know, I am no midget (my Santa suit doesn't even fit anymore). I know you are thin and take a low dosage as it is so this may not be right for you but it certainly helps me...Alan

P.S. I also take a Neurontin at bedtime also.
