I have struggled with the effects of blepharospasm the last 3 years. I tend to be stubborn and determined (making retiring from work after 32 years in the same office a difficult thing to"give in to")

I have tried to be on the computer but although looking down at the keypad is easy enough-looking at the monitor-straight out is another thing.I had posted on the blepharospasm bulletin board looking for a way to be able to see the monitor. I appreciated your responses so much.

Someone mentioned the monitor being mounted under the desk-a hole in the desk with glass to be able to view the monitor.

I found a company who sells a unit called a monitor manager that has

that very configuration. The e-mail address for the information is

www.officefurniturefactory.com You can see pictures online of several different helps. It's a wonderful help.

Thank you so much for all the times I've read the entries you place-when I can't even contribute to the dialog.

As a computer network administrator, I agree with the desk configuration you are talking about. We use the "under glass" desks in our training class room. Another thing that helps me more than anything are the new flat screen monitors that use the same technology as the laptops. My desktop monitor at work is only about two and a half inches thick. We are presently replacing PCs with the Profile from Gateway. It is so much easier on the eyes. I can't wait until I can afford one to replace the "monster" 17" monitor I have at home. I have a company supplied laptop and Profile at home to help me out, especially as I have to sometimes provide support from home.

Ray, when we had our home built four years ago and I was buying furniture for my "computer" room, I looked everywhere to find one of those desks that had the ability to have the Computer set into it so that you could look down at the monitor. I was told by all the stores I went to that they stopped making them and had to settle for a normal configuration. I really wish I had the type you could look down at as I know it would be better on my eyes. Maybe I should look for someold class room equipment. If anyone knows where I could still purchase that type desk, I would love to hear of it..Thanks..Alan

I don't Alan. but I did have my computer desk loward and got a chair that can be raised ant then put a pillow on it to make it even higher. It helps.

Seems ;ole most of the local tv stations have them. You could ask them where they get them or if you could buy one when they change sets/ Amm Doyle.

i have one of these and do notice a difference from the larger huge monitors and several others do also. Maybe Sally should get one these.

I have only heard of the other you and alan have described. do you think one's posture would be worse from looking down all the time?
