HI DELAINE
KEEP US POSTED TO SEE THE RESULTS ON HOW LONG IT WILL BE WITHOUT THE BOTOX BEEN INJECTED. I'VE HAD 5 SET OF INJECTIONS ALTOGETHER AND MY 4TH SSET WORE HOU VERY QUICKLY. I HOPE I HAVE BETTER RESULTS THIS TIME AROUND AND SHE IS DOING ONLY 46 UNITS BUT WHAT I DON'T LIKE IS THAT IF SHE KNOWS NOT TO INJECT IN THE MIDDLE EYELID AND IT DROOPS WHY EVEN BOTHER. I HAVE MY NEXT APPT NOT UNTILL MAY THE 6TH AND I WILL TELL HER NOT TO DO THE MIDDLE EYELID BUT DO IT ALL AROUND MY EYES AND SEE IF THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. LET ME KNOW HOW THAT WORKS OUT FOR YOU I AM WILLING TO TRY ANYTHING I'VE EVEN CONCERED TO GO FOR FACE MASSAGES AND HEAD, SHOULDERS AND LOWEER BACK TO SEE IF THAT WILL WAKE UP SOME WEAK MUSCLES. SEE HOW THAT GOES.

Yes, I remember him. Please keep us informed. Even if you took the meds all your life and never needed Botox again, it would be great. It wears off way too soon plus the inconvenience of scheduling life around shots. Ann Doyle who is a very grateful to our guinea pig.

Hi Delaine,
Artane was very effective for me. I took it for about 5 months along with ativan. In the beginning I took 5 mg 3 times a day but slowly reduced down as my botox began to work along with ativan 1 mg 3 x a day. The side effects from the ativan really knocked me out but eventually I only took the artane and did not have any side effects. I just eventually weaned off of the medication and have not had any medication since before December. Like you, I couldn't go 2 months without the botox. I have gone 4 months but just had it Thursday because I was feeling some blinking but nothing compared to what I had before and really only noticeable to me. The dcotor reduced my dose from 60 mg to 40 mg but the funny thing is around my eyes and forhead feel extremely tight...almost to the point of hurting. I have not really had that feeling before. I wish that I had waited one more month possibly but he didn't feel comfortable having me wait. The positive is that I had some ptosis but not anymore. Almost feel like I had a facelift. I hope the artane works for you. I used benadryl in the beginning but it seemed to not work after a while.

Delaine, I'm keeping your meds and dosages for later in case my program stops working for me. I'm on the herbal program of "Mood Elevator" and "Nerve Control" that I posted previously about. I've had only one Botox shot since last April, when I had my first unsuccessful myectomy. Since they weren't working, my doctor and I decided to plan my trip to Dr. Anderson for my second myectomy with him in December. About a week and a half after surgery, my spasms started again and at the end of December, I started on the herbal program. I haven't had any Botox since my surgery and the only minimal spasms, which happens very rarely, I have are when I'm extremely tired or stressed. I'm not sure how long this program will be successful for me, but I'll keep everyone informed if it changes. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my new eyes and still in the healing process which is taking time and isn't always easy. Patti in SC

THIS IS MOST EXCITING. THANKS. I TALKED ABOUT THIS MUCH OF THE TIME AFTER READING THE FIRST POST...... THOUGHT THERE HAD TO BE MORE TO COME.
I'VE BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT PROGRESSION IN NECK SPASMS, WEAKNESS IN LOWER ARMS AND LEGS FOR SOMETIME, AND JUST READ RECENTLY THAT PROLONGED USE OF BOTOX COULD CAUSE THIS WEAKNESS. ANYONE ELSE AFFLICTED AND SEEING SUCH WEAKNESS ? KIITTY AT rgrv/sc

Kitty, the weakness in lower arms and legs--how does it manifest
itself? Do they spasm as well? I've had some spasming in my toes
which may or may not be related to the blephs and facial dystonia.
Where did you read about the prolonged use of botox causing this
weakness? Thx. Joanne M. San Diego, CA

I tried the Artane, but it dried me out and left me with low energy, so I am taking 1/4 of a tab 2 or 3 times a day, the Klonopin at 1/4mg 4 or 5 times a day and the Piracetam 800mg 8-12-4 also a good enzymatic women's over 45 vit with herbs from health food store. A Yogi green tea with herbs and I have been better than I've been since diagnosis. If I over do things physically or a storm front is moving in I am a little worse and that disappoints, but doesn't surprise me. All in all I think it works. I'm taking non-drying Sudafed(with the Piracetam) generic brand because of sinus stuff and the quafenisin seems to help the BEB and Fibromyalgia.
Forever your guinea pig....oink oink.........it's working for me. I still took my 32 units of Botox in March, didn't need it in Feb. and have it scheduled for end of May.......we'll see if I need it. Botox really dries my eyes and makes me weak. Love this Spring weather. Happy as a Bluebird in TN.

Delaine,I tried artane for several different times and it only did well for the eyes when I had increased the dosage to 4mg or 5mg. By the time the dosage was that high, which is high for me, I was spacey. I had dry mouth and just had a not so good feeling all day. Wish you luck with your experiment and keep everyone posted.
