Would you please read my earlier post and tell me if your spasms start like mine do....in the face and moving up to the eye? Thanks as I am still learning about this crazy disease.

Well, child, that was back in the dark ages, but ...

I don't remember the first symptoms very well. My most prominent memory of the onset of BEB was when I was bowling: pick up the ball, step up to the line, look at the pins, wait three minutes until eyelids settle down ... (it's hard to rub your eyes when you're carrying a 16 lb. ball).

I don't have any pronounced symptoms of Meige, so while I have facial tics from time to time they seem unrelated to the BEB. From waht I have read, what you experience is Meige-related. No big deal, though. It may indicate you need an extra shot or two of Botox.

Thank you for answering me. I know my Optho-Neuro told me that most people's spasms start at the eye and move down but mine starts in the cheek and moves up. I do have the mouth spasms also. No one has given me a Meige diagnosis but I think I have self-diagnosed. :o) He does give me injecitons down in my cheek but we have trouble keeping me from having a mouth droop. I have a lop-sided smile but I am not going to stop smiling! Thank you. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Joyce
