Baby shampoo vs. eye makeup remover

Decided to start a new thread on the baby shampoo thing. I use a eye makeup remover gel for sensitive eyes instead. I put it on, then put a warm, wet washcloth on my face for a few minutes, then rinse. Then I go back over the eye area with a Qtip. It gets crusty because of the dry eye I guess.

I wash my eyelids twice per day with cleansing pads soaked in baby shampoo diluted in water (after compressing with warm cloths) then splash with water. I use a lid cleanser once per day (usually mid day) as I can carry the foil-wrapped cloths with me - then splash with water. I find the baby shampoo stings a bit but understand (from 3 ophthalmologists - 1 at a BEBRF conference) that it is better. I've used this routine for years but still get blepharitus on occasion and very dry crusty eyes.

I'm extremely careful to moisturize my eyes constantly and seal them at night covered with an eye mask. I also take omega 3 and flax seed oils. For some months I was having to see the ophthalm. very 2 weeks because of infection and dry eyes - I just can't seem to get rid of it. I've been advised not to use punctual plugs and weights in the eyelids. I guess botox and beb just make our eyes so dry.

The ophthalmologists I've talked to suggested, in their expeience, the punctual plugs have a very hard time staying put with the squeezing that goes on with eyelids of beb patients. So far I've taken their advice.
