I tried to put a link at the bottom of the page which would take you to the Moran Eye Center where you can find some of the research info on FL-41 lenses. I did not get it to work. Try these steps.

Put in Moran Eye Center on Goodsearch or Google.
Look for Patient Care at the top of the page.
Look for glasses, etc.
You will find Fl-41 listed here.

If you click on Archives at the top of this BEB page, you will find many posts about FL-41 lenses. Some people feel they help a lot and others do not feel they help so much.

I find the lenses soothing, but am not sure they work much better for me than a good polarized lenses. I do not have my prescription glasses tinted, but plan to do so for the next pair that I get. I have been waiting until after cataract surgery because I knew my glasses would be changed then.

You will note that you cannot have lenses tinted which have certain surfaces already on them, so it usually involves buying new glasses. You can also have various percentages of tint. Some people get darker tints for outside and lighter tints for indoor wear. I find mine soothing in flourescent and halogen lighted environments. I am going to check on the variations of tint for my next pair. I do not know the percentage of tint on my current ones. I am going to ask. Perhaps a darker tint will work better outside.

HI Gloria,

Just below this post is a long post of many of us talking about the FL-41 tint. Read them and maybe it will help you.

If you need more information you can look for the Moran Eye institute through goodsearch or google, ike mentioned or maybe find an optical company closer or even the one you use.

But if you still have questions just ask. We can get you here.

I have two pair that one is about 30% and pale pink. I just got much darker rose colored ones that are about 75%. for like sunglasses. Even that dark they don't seem to be super dark cause I can wear them at early night and before the sun comes up while driving.

Good luck,
Norm

the optician who made my glasses educated himself and ordered the tint and did my glasses. I did not have to send off for them. Hope you can find someone who will do it for you also.

Bluebird,

It is nice to see more and more optical companies interested enough to expand their knowledge.
When I started there was not much to choice from on FL-41

Have a good day,
Norm

Should have glasses in a few days. Mean while I have an appointment for injections. Between the two hope to have relief soon. This will be my 5th visit for injections.

I've now found several opticians that have not problem researching and finding and ordering FL41 if you want it, so more and more it should be able to be done by your local friendly optical shop. Don't know if that applies to the big name chains though, as my experience has been with small shops.

Cheers

Peter
