OK, just wondering how many others out there experience this bunny nose, or rabbit effect. I have only experienced this since my last set of shots and since I saw it mentioned by another poster, I thought I'd start a new topic to see what experience others have had with this. Does it go away? Is it the start of something new? Andrea |

Hi Andrea, Here's a guess. Your latest shots are all in the eyelids, nothing outside of them. Maybe you previous shots included some above the eyelids, or below them towards the center, near your nose? If that's the case, those shots might have masked this when it first set in - so it might have developed a while ago. Just an aspect to think about. And I believe some folks who have these get shots in the side of the nose to help. Peter Modified by pdb at Tue, Sep 23, 2008, 13:46:24 |

Hi -- That's perfect the perfect term for it. Maybe if I walked around with a carrot stick in my hand I wouldn;t look so crazy :) I do get this where my nose quinches up. I get shots into the side of my nose, near the bridge. Last time was the first experience for me with shots there. Apparently I need an additional location on each side of my nose and more botox in each injection. That's in 3 weeks! I guess it;s just part of my facial dystonia manifestation. Robin |

When its close to the time for botox injections I get the bunny nose and pursing of the lips and twitching of the face in general. When the botox works for the eyelids, these all calm down. I don't get injections for the Meige. June in Toronto |

Wow! I just saw myself described to a Tee! Bunny nose and pursing of the lips! As I've said before, the last botox didn't work so well.....so now I'm dealing with this exactly! The magnesium didn't work either! I was hoping against hope that it would but it's been well over a week and no change. My doc is very cautious with meds.........and he should be, but I know ME! And I know that I have a high tolerance to meds........he has given me 1 Lorazapam a day......that just doesn't work, especially with the botox not working. I'm just waiting for the next injections the first part of November! This really sucks.............but I know you all know that! I hate to just stay home, but that seems to be the most comfortable.....social life is non-existent............that's my choice, I know, but I hate to be in public looking like I do..........Thanks for the venting process!! I am similar to June, in that when my eyes are behaving then the Meige is mostly under control. Having said that, the bunny nose was pretty bad so I do get a shot on either side of my nose to stop it. Shots in the rest of my face have been pretty disastrous - I lost my smile for a very long time and I was bitig on my lips because they seem to be in the way. I decided after that to give up the Meige shots - I could cope with the twitching and other movements, especially as they are only bad when my eyes are bad. |

Hi, Andrea-
I get shots down both sides of my nose, and it stops not only the "bunny nose", but helps with the faces that I would otherwise make. It makes a huge difference for me. Unfortunately, once my "bunny nose" started, it hasn't gone away, but is not noticeable at all when I get the botox injections where they need to be. |
