I've just read through the last postings regarding the difference and benefits of rose or orange lenses. My optician has lent me a sample pair of rosish lenses to see if they help. They are loose and not in frames so I have to hold them up to my eyes.
In the shop, holding them to my eyes, I felt an immediate easing of spasms and my eyes opened. It didn't last long though. It could have been because I was concentrating.
At home, I've tried them with the TV on. Not much difference. They're great while looking at the computer. They also take the glare off the page if trying to read.
Would you be willing to tell me when and where you gain the most benefit from them? I know we are all individuals but I'd be most grateful. I've not driven for almost two years so guess that might be a risky option!!

I only have to use mine outside for the most part. Occasionally I will put them on when I am in a room with flourescent light such as church. Since mine are on my distance lense glasses, it makes it hard to use them for grocery shopping, etc which is where I would like to use them. Darn those flourescent lights!!!

Jane,

I have a pair of the orange colored FL-41 Cocoons. I purchased them from my optician and he charged me $135 for the sunglasses and tinting. They fit over my prescription glasses which are not tinted. I use them for driving and in stores with bright fluorescent lights. I used to wear them indoors all the time until I read Judith's posting that doing so would make you more light sensitive. She is correct. Since I have stopped wearing them all the time, I am less light sensitive. I also got a good set of injections this time and that may be helping the light sensitivity too.

I just bought two new pairs of sunglasses. My new Cocoons have not arrived yet but my Vistana fitovers came with the copper colored lenses are just as good as the FL-41's for me. They were about $55(shipping included). They are polarized and UV400 rated. See them on www.liveeyewear.com. My regular glasses are fairly wide and the Extra Large Vistana frames are a little bulky but that is what I had to get to fit over my wide skinny glasses. The Cocoons have a wide, skinny frame to fit the newer wider prescription lenses. I can hardly wait to get those. According to their web site (low vision section)their hazelnut tint blocks 98% of blue light and provides 100% UVA/UVB protection and the orange tint blocks 100% of blue light and provides 100% UVA/UVB protection.

I like the fitovers because I have to get my prescription lenses changed every year. My vision changes a lot. My last pair of Cocoons lasted me 5 years.
