Hi All,
In a previous post I said I would let people (Dan!) know where my optometrist located the tint in Australia. The Australian distributor for B.P.I. is Gerber Coburn in South Australia. I'm sure if you gave this to your optometrist they would source it for you. I'm happy with the glasses so far, $350. well spent!
Good Luck, regards , Jenny.

I asked my neuro-opthamologist (Dr Harrison in Brisbane) about the tint and he commented on the great expense for them in Australia (particularly compared to America). He said that he had ordered the tinted glasses for some patients and they had made no difference for some, but had been very helpful for others. His final suggestion was to buy cheap sunglasses that helped to keep out the light and glare, but if I wasn't happy with that, then he would order some in. I have about 4 pairs of sunglasses which I keep in the car, house, handbag and at work (so that I am never without).
What do others think about this?

Hi Lee,
I basically couldn't function at work any longer so the situation demanded that I try anything that might help. I didn't feel comfortable wearing sunglasses in a work environment so rose tints sounded good. They don't darken my environment they just take out all the blue light, at this stage it is probably too early to say that they help a great deal but it was worth a try. The price, to me, wasn't exhorbitant, $A 120. for the tint plus glasses, you get to a point that you just try anything!
Regards Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I have a question that goes back the recent past posts on FL-41. Are your glasses an orange colored tint or are they rose colored. Did you have the tint applied to glasses you already had or did you order a new pair and have them tinted?

I have three pair of FL-41 of varying darkness.

Thanks and have a Great Aussie Day from Wonderful Wyoming, USA
Norm

Hi Norm,
I bought new frames that are pink/rose/almost purple, so that the tint wouldn't stand out as much, and since I don't wear glasses I had normal lenses tinted to 50%. They are definitely rose coloured. The price of the tint was A$120,with the price of the frame and lenses my total was A$342, which I thought was a reasonable amount to take a chance that they would help. My work environment was making it really hard to function. I have not had them long but it seems to alleviate some of the eye strain. You get to a point that you try anything ( even harmonicas!)As an aside instead of the harmonica I do tend to hum/sing? in the car which helps.I think I will restrict wearing the Rose glasses to my work environment and perhaps to night driving, then see how I go.
Regards, Jenny from a cold but sunny day in Wagga.

Thanks, Jenny! You have just answered all of my next questions! I also don't wear glasses so would need the normal lenses. And that was a great idea about the matching frames. I, too, am prepared to spend the money to make life bearable and it is great news that these items are available to us in Australia. Thank you for keeping us updated and I look forward to more good news from you.

Hi Jenny and thanks for remembering the question I asked about the FL41 tints. I actually found Gerber via one of my many Google searches and pleased to know they are the actual suppliers. I sincerely wish you good luck with the lenses and would be very interested to hear how you are going after a month or 2. My situation hasn't changed with my current Botox specialist referring me on for another opinion. It appears that every specialist in this field has varying levels of expertise and knowledge so its a matter of remaining patient until you find someone who strikes the right spot. All the best and I look forward to hearing positive news from you soon. Regards, Dan
