I just have to let you know that I found a very palatable way to digest the flax oil. I took a jar of peanut or almond butter which is either natural or organic and contains the oil on top that you are supposed to stir. I poured off most of that oil and filled it with thh flax seed oil. At room temperature, it mixes up great. I then refrigerated it and it does not separate and tastes yummy.

Sounds much more appealing this way :-)

That's a good idea, especially if you can only get the 'original' flavor of flaxseed oil.

Since Dr. Soparkar said to take the flaxseed oil with a tablespoon of peanut butter anyway, you could have both; what I do is prepare a piece of toast with peanut butter on it, take the oil and immediately a bite of the peanut butter and toast. Or used to do. That's before I tried the flavored oil of the same brand.

I get that Barlean's organic oil (cheaper online, as far as I can see), which I afterwards tried in Lemonade flavor, and it's quite ok that way. Also comes in Cinnamon flavor.

As flaxseed oil has recently been recommended to me by the Low Vision Clinic, I've bought a couple of bottles. It says on the label to take one teaspoon, twice a day with a meal.

I've hunted through previous posts to find out your suggestions about this. It would seem that you're taking a tablespoon at a time. Peanut butter is suggested to help the absorption of it. Does anything else work?

I'm wondering if it would be possible for those with experience to share again. I'm sorry if that's a nuisance. I got a bit lost on the stuff that came up on my search.

Thank you.

Hi everyone, I haven't tuned in for quite awhile. Wanted to comment on flax. I buy whole flax seeds and grind them in a coffee grinder. Then I sprinkle a tablespoon or so on my cereal in the morning. It tastes fine. I've read that is the best way to take flax, as the oil spoils quickly, even if you keep it refrigerated. I take flax for general health reasons (omega-3 fatty acids) and do not find it to do anything for my blepharospasm. I was taking flax before I got the BEB. I also take additional omega-3s in other supplement forms (a good one is Coromega, a fish oil which comes in an orange flavor).
