Let's back up for a minute here. Some years ago, I pointed out that I could set the default font size in messages. The link below demonstrates a number of possible font sizes and the feedback I got at that time. The majority of users preferred font size 3 which is what we have now and which is one size larger than what came with the software. Perhaps we should revisit this. If the concensus is to go to a larger font (we are all seven years older), that can be implemented. If all posts are in the same size font, individual users can adjust viewed font size by adjusting screen resolution and/or font size display in their browser. If users post in all sorts of sizes, viewers may have to adjust their display differently to view different posts at their preferred font size. Bob Related link: Message Font Size |

I am content with the present size but willing to expand for the sake of those with worse eyesight. What I am concerned more about is the use of arbitrary-width screen sizes; what I really hate is having to scroll left-right to read the text. --- Lynn |

I always enlarge the font size with the "Ctrl" key from the bulletin board's original setting. It defaults to that setting now for me. So a larger font setting would be fine with me....I just prefer consistency in most of the posts. I'm afraid that I and others will find it a bit annoying to have to adjust for all the differences in fonts if people do it individually. The HTML coding is neat and it's fun to see the occasional posting in bright colors (thank you Norm! :-))...but I wouldn't want people to start using their own personal color....some are difficult to look at and we have enough problems with our eyes. I prefer for the posts to be the same font size...although I must say that I also liked Peter's "larger" font posts. :-) Can't say that I care for the "bold" fonts. For whatever reason they are more difficult for me to read. Bob, did you have to mention that we are all 7 years older now since that post? :-) Shirley in New Mexico who has enjoyed people enjoying themselves over the HTML coding. |

I certainly agree with Bob (and Shirley) that one consistent size is better than variability, so I would vote for upping it at least one font size from the current as the default. More than that, we should not be messing with font types as some fonts (here I mean stuff like Times New Roman versus Arial etc etc) are much worse for visibility than our current standard font, so lets not mess about with that. I also agree that messing about with bold doesn't help readability of the body text. On occasions (not recently) where I've posted a longer document, I've used bold for paragraph headings, in the belief that that does help understanding and readability. Cheers Peter |

The size 3 font is fine by me and I, too, can control the size easily with the mouse up or down function. I just 'had a new toy to play with' recently with the fonts/bold face and italics. I won't use it anymore - am too old for such trivialities LOL. June in Toronto |

My vote is to either keep the font size as is (although Peter's bigger font is a nice novelty) or up it just one size for those who have real problems with vision from whatever source. My biggest caution is what Lynn spoke about--making things so that you have to scroll from left to right to get the whole message. That is truly tiresome. However, I noticed that this doesn't happen to any of Peter's messages, so it's either not a worry or he does some kind of "thing" to keep the message on a single line. Joellen

Hope we can keep the font size as it is. On the flip side, I find it difficult to read the larger fonts. Just saying.

I prefer the current font size. On bigger probably would not be bad. I don't like the bigger and bolder. |

Either the current or one larger is fine with me.
