So sorry to hear it! But there are so many meds for depression. Can she try a different one? Maybe one of the older ones, like zoloft, whose side effects are pretty well known?

Maybe if she switches the meds soon, the symptoms will improve. I hope so. What does her psychiatrist say?

I have seen people given drugs with these side effects. My mother in her 80s at the time was given Zoloft and she did a lot od lip smacking etc and we took her back to the Dr. And had it discontinued. Can't remember if she was put on something else but I don't think so as she wasn't on it too long and at her age she couldn't handle many meds.

Those symptoms are not nice to have and find out if they stop when the drug stops as some drug side effects are irreversible.

Get information from your pharmacist and do question your Dr. If depression is an illness then one requires meds depending on the severity. If depression is a symptom of a loss or an illness, then meds may not be necessary. Depression is common after an illness or even a cold and sometimes getting health again solves that depressive mood.

It's difficult, but we all need to know what we are taking and the side effects and contra indications.

I do hope her depression gets better and your Dr. will have a solution for both the depression and side effects of the meds. Best wishes. Marion

She went back to her Dr. & he discontinued the remeron. He put her on Valium 5 mg. He wants to see her again in 3 weeks & if no change he'll up her dose to 10 mg. He said he did'nt see what I seen? I think its like BEB. When I get in a tight situation & adrenline starts flowing I show no symtoms? But I still have this illness in a big way. My daughter is a nurse & she talked to the Dr. I know that helped us. I'm gonna see him a few more times trying to get her relief then I'm gonna get her in to a Neurologist or movement disorder Dr. =--> Jay
