'spider web' or 'loose hair' feeling on face | ![]() | ||

hello everyone,
I was diagnosed w/ BEB a few months ago, and have had 1 round of botox (low dose / few injection sites). recently I've had this sensation on my face... nose, or cheeks, or forehead... as if a loose hair is tickling me... .like a spider web feeling... when I 'brush it off', the feeing disappears. the frequency of this has increased over the past couple days. googling this symptom shows that it's discussed in other places on the internet, but not associated with blepharospasm or dystonias, that I could find. do any of you have experience with this symptom?

Hi Hank, I have had the tickling or "movement" feeling before. It was before the BEB started and the first few years after. Mine was mostly in the scalp area but sporadically on the face, also. Almost a "crawly" type feeling. I'm not sure if it was related or not and I haven't noticed having this in years. Since Botulinum works on the muscles by disrupting the nerve signals, it stands to reason that it might be related to the toxin somehow...either with new nerve sprouting from the toxin or disrupting or altering the signals.
