I sit my computer screen on a lower level than the desk, so that I am looking down. I increase the font to a very large size and I've changed the backgound to gray with navy blue for the type and toned down the brightness. I have a new flat screen that is non glare and that has helped also. Combined all these little things have helped.

i have my fonts set to very large also with a contraption called a cat navigator( actually a mouse flat pad), that can enlarge small print on some but not all web pages , tone down the brightnees, and have to wear my lighter fl41's. Looking at my monitor ,it is set lower so that I look down at it also.
Also i can't use the computer for long periods of time either or it is very much of an eyeball strain.--modified by Kathy in Oregon at Sun, Dec 08, 2002, 19:41:34

Hello Maria,Exactly what type of problem is Butch having with it?
My best helps in order are:
1. A 20" screen (It's wonderful!)
2. Enlarging the font to 120%
3. An anti-glare screen
4. As Delaine said, looking down slightly at the screen.
5. No flourescent lighting. A small Banker's lamp (with the green shade) slightly to the side and behind me. In the daytime, normal light from either a lightly draped or open window (with my back to it).
6. Having typed since High School, by touch.
7. Stop when your eyes say you've had enough. Otherwise you'll get a burning feeling that will linger.
8. Having a completely quiet room.
Hope that helps. When I was working I always wore my dark wrap-around sunglasses in the office.
Judy
