Myectomy and Botox

How long does Dr. Anderson want you to wait after your last Botox shots before he does a myectomy? A would find it hard to wait more than 8 weeks and extremely difficult for 10. Did I hear someone say 12 weeks? Ann Doyle

Hi Ann, It will be 12 weeks since I had botox, and I see Dr. Anderson,Dec. 30th, when I called his office they suggested not to get botox. I am very nonfunctional, and all the visiting and get togethers with the holidays, is hard but I could just stay at home. I keep thinking just 2 more gatherings to go.

Ann, I don't know the time line that Dr. Anderson requires before his myectomy, but my last botox was on Aug. 29 and I had my surgery by him on December 10th. I know they like 3- 4 months to be sure that as much of the botox is out of your system as possible. They like to work with the REAL unmedicated YOU (your eyes). It's hard, but I'm sure it's better for the results that he can do for us. Hang in there, hon, you can make it and you'll be glad when it's all over. Hope you have a better way of communicating with us than I was able to do, but friends like Corrie sure do come in handy when you can't see and concerned people like us are anxiously awaiting to see how you are doing. We care and we'll be waiting to hear from you. My prayers are with you - Patti in SC

Ann, I had my last Botox July 31 and my eyes are squeezing shut it seems 99% of the time. My Surgery will be Jan 7th. That will be 5 months and I am in misery, but I get through

each day with a lot of prayer and sleep (or just resting my eyes) I am not a lazy person and I feel like I am wasting my life but what else can I do.

Hang in there girl friend, at least we have each other and others on the BB.
